If yesterday’s court decision makes no sense to you… Good! You are among those of us who thought that American liberty was protected by the Constitution.  The Constitution tells the Federal Government what power it is ALLOWED to have.  Progs see the Constitution as little more than an obstacle in their lust for power in creating a collective society.  They have worked tirelessly for the last century to slowly make it irrelevant. Yesterday, they took a giant leap forward in building the very government our Founding Fathers tried to protect us from when they gave us our Constitution.
WASHINGTON DC – Mitt Romney’s presidential campaign has raised $5.5 million since the  Supreme Court ruled that President Obama’s healthcare law is  constitutional.
Romney started raising funds immediately after the decision, and in a message to supporters Friday morning his campaign  spokeswoman said he had raised $5.5 million from 55,000 donations.

“As of this morning, we have raised $4.3 million with 43,000 donations online,” spokeswoman Andrea Saul said.   And the funds continue to come in…. (more…)

TENNESSEE – First lady Michelle Obama echoed her husband’s thoughts on the health care ruling during a Memphis fundraiser on Thursday, saying the “decision was truly a victory for families all across this country.”


“When it comes to healthcare, please, please tell people about the historic reform this president passed,” she told roughly 300 supporters at the Memphis Convention Center, according to a pool report. “Tell them that today’s Supreme Court  decision was truly a victory for families all across this country.” (more…)

WASHINGTON – Rep. Allen West (R-Fla.) on Thursday blasted his fellow members of the Congressional Black Caucus (CBC) for staging a walkout on a contempt vote by the House against Attorney General Eric Holder.
“Today the Congressional Black Caucus and other liberal Members of Congress judged the Attorney General by the color of his skin, and not by the content of his character,” he wrote on his Facebook page. “I am disappointed my colleagues would rather engage in a political stunt to distract the American people from knowing the truth behind the Attorney General’s disregard of the law and disrespect of congressional oversight to provide requested documents.”
The House Oversight and Government Reform Committee last week moved to hold Holder in contempt, charging he had not cooperated fully with the committee’s investigation into the controversial gun-tracking operation known as “Fast and Furious.” The full House voted 255-67 on Thursday to hold Holder in contempt, but House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) and many other Democrats joined the (CBC) in staging a walkout during the vote. Only one way left to get rid of this liberty-depriving law — elect Mitt Romney and Storm the Senate

Borrowing from Mike Vanderboegh – This is no small thing, to restore a republic after it has fallen into corruption.   I have studied history for years and I cannot recall it ever happening.   It may be that our task is impossible.   Yet, if we do not try then how will we know it can’t be done?   And if we do not try, it most certainly won’t be done.   The Founders’ Republic, and the larger war for western civilization, will be lost.

But I tell you this: We will not go gently into that bloody collectivist good night.   Indeed, we will make with our defiance such a sound as ALL history from that day forward will be forced to note, even if they despise us in the writing of it.
And when we are gone, the scattered, free survivors hiding in the ruins of our once-great republic will sing of our deeds in forbidden songs, tending the flickering flame of individual liberty until it bursts forth again, as it must, generations later.   We will live forever, like the Spartans at Thermopylae, in sacred memory.

Rep. Charlie Rangel has managed to secure the Democratic nomination in a primary challenge held this evening in NY.  However, Rangel’s multiple challengers point to an ever increasingly fractured Democratic party which can no longer count on a cohesive voting block.

A second ex-Bronx borough president, Adolfo Carrion, just walked through the door in time for some bad news. The room fell quiet as Charlie Rangel took the stage to declare victory. Adriano Espaillat is still missing in action.
“The time for change was clearly now. Maybe this was low voter turnout,” Carrion said. “But if a challenger like Espaillat can pull 30-40% against Charlie Rangel, that speaks volumes.””

**Update 11:05 pm – With 50% of precincts reporting, Charlie Rangel surges ahead of his main opponent Andriano Espaillet.
Polls closed at 9 pm tonight.  Democratic Rep Charlie Rangel is facing four challengers in the 13th district Democratic primary.  Rep Rangel has represented the area since 1970.  If Rangel is successful in securing the Democratic nomination, it will be his 22nd run for re-election.
Redistricting this year has meant significant changes to Rangel’s previously safe district, adding in a large Latino/Hispanic voting population, diluting the African-American vote in the new district.
Current early precinct returns show Rangel securing only 30% of the votes.
