First the back story. In September of 2010, before we assembled our Last Refuge of patriots, I wrote an article -a warning of sorts- for constitutional patriots assembled at iOTW about the danger of Karl Rove:

Karl was president of the National College Republicans and has been entrenched with the concentric circles of the Decipticons since his high school/college days, trying to work his entire career into the middle where the sandwiches have no crust, waiters pour bottled water table side, and thin suave fellas place a linen napkin atop your lap for you.
He was a rough, modest kid outsider who wanted in. Desperately wanted in, so he sought approval at every corner. He mastered all things politic. He studied books, attended speeches, joined campaigns and would cross the country without sleep just to enter the room before the cigar smoke cleared and catch a glimpse or snippet of the Decepticon meeting. (ht WeaselZippers) The Department of Homeland Security’s civil rights watchdog has concluded that travelers along the nation’s borders may have their electronics seized and the contents of those devices examined for any reason whatsoever — all in the name of national security.
The DHS, which secures the nation’s border, in 2009 announced that it would conduct a “Civil Liberties Impact Assessment” of its suspicionless search-and-seizure policy pertaining to electronic devices “within 120 days.” More than three years later, the DHS office of Civil Rights and Civil Liberties published a two-page executive summary of its findings. CHICAGO – Sneed has learned a plea deal is now on the table between former Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr. and federal authorities probing allegations of campaign fund misuse.
Sneed is told the plea deal includes Jackson serving time in federal prison.
“Significant jail time is now definitely a part of the deal,” said a top Sneed source close to the probe.
“But I think [Jackson’s wife] Sandi, feels like she was thrown under the bus by her husband, ” now that a separate probe has begun on her, a second source added. (more…)
You often hear of people who say the various jail and prison systems are breeding grounds for thug-like anti social behaviors for young black men. The general talking points stem around when a young black man enters the correctional system, the subsequent environment just makes matters worse. Like entering a hierarchial system of organized cage match / MMA fights.
Few, if any, intellectually honest people are brave enough to admit the breeding ground for “Thug Life” begins far earlier than the engagements with the correctional system. Why, well, because it is a difficult yet obvious conversation.
Obvious because the behaviors are noted much earlier than the first time they are engaged with law enforcement.
Yet difficult, because when you admit it starts much earlier you put the burden of cause upon the parents.
Yet, isn’t that exactly where the burden of cause should lay?
Allow me to present exhibit “A” – Atlanta – New disturbing, yet typical, video footage has emerged showing an altercation at an Atlanta, GA strip mall. Unfortunately, the disturbance ultimately led to a woman being tazered by a security guard. (more…)
(CNSNews.com) – The number of Americans not in the labor force grew by 169,000 in January, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics’ latest jobs report.
BLS labels people who are unemployed and no longer looking for work as “not in the labor force,” including people who have retired on schedule, taken early retirement, or simply given up looking for work. There were 89 million of them last month.
The number of people not in the labor force had declined in December to 88.8 million from 88.9 million in November. (more…)
During the holidays we kept saying something was seriously wrong with the difference between what the Media was reporting, and what the actual companies involved in the economic transactions were saying. The media were intentionally misleading the broader public by selling positive economic talking points from Progressive Think Tanks of various forms (see Klugman and crew). The Legacy Media, in all its forms, was selling a line of B.S. Now the proof.
WASHINGTON DC – The nation’s economy unexpectedly shrank by 0.1 percent in the fourth quarter of 2012, casting fresh doubt on the strength of the economy recovery.
The new estimate of gross domestic product (GDP) from the Commerce Department marks the first time the economy shrank since it was in the depths of the recession in mid-2009.
The dip came as a surprise to economists. Experts had believed the U.S. would post a modest economic gain of slightly over 1 percent, after logging a 3.1 percent increase in the third quarter. (link)
As we shared back in September the 3rd quarter GDP was a total farce, a fabricated set of completely false economic data points. When people like Jack Welch were pointing it out the media were rabid in their attacks. There was no actual “growth” in the 3rd quarter either, it was all just a guise to cover for the election of Dear Leader. (more…)
House Republicans asking questions about facts, aspects and details surrounding Benghazi….. House Democrats swooning while telling Hillary what a wonderful gift to the progressive universe she is, and positioning her for a 2016 presidential race.
There is an interesting compilation of stories from some of the non-U.S. hostages who survived the Algeria terror attack.

JAPAN: One Japanese worker at the plant remains unaccounted for, according to employer JGC.
NORWAY: Five Norwegian employees of Statoil are still missing, the energy company said.
BRITAIN: Two other Britons still missing and feared dead, the UK government said.
UNITED STATES: 3 Americans dead the US has confirmed. A US official said seven American hostages escaped.
MALAYSIA: Two Malaysians are missing, the government says.
PHILIPPINES: Four Filipinos are missing.
Ask yourself this question as you read: “where is the U.S. Press in similar coverage of our guys”? Are they so interested invested in covering for the failed foreign policy of the Obama administration they cannot bring themselves to report on the most horrific of all terror attacks in recent history?
