I doubt you could find a more apropos contrast than today with Donald Trump campaigning in Tampa Florida and Pittsburgh Pennsylvania, while the insufferable old GOPe represented by Mitt Romney hole up in an exclusive and indulgent mountain top enclave…. while decrying the audacity of the vulgarian insurgency.
Here’s the ball cap clad blue collar businessman in Pennsylvania delivering a speech with his plane as the backdrop. Think about it:

“His Plane”, the result of his effort, his acumen, his work ethic and his determination.
He’s effectively won the nomination. The convention still a month away. It’s mid June, and yet there’s Trump busting his butt on the campaign trail, visiting key battleground states and fighting for every possible voter.
On this exact day four years earlier, presumptive republican nominee Mitt Romney was taking a few weeks off, lounging and relaxing at the spa amid the white wine spritzer crowd – having determined the visits to the unwashed masses were no longer necessary.
Not Donald Trump. Not 2016. Not this guy… Our candidate is sweating his ass off fighting against every possible adversary while the ankle biting Romney loyalists sip summer cocktails chilled with frozen artesian rain water. (more…)
It does not matter whether the Anti-Trumpist of the day emanates from Washington DC (congress), from media (punditry), or from the special interest groups doing the bidding of Wall Street (US CoC), the ultimate thread which connects them all is money. Lots, and lots, of money. These are financial interests.
Not meaning to be so simplistic, but it’s always about the money. Behind every globalist word, behind every globalist ideology, behind the convenient use of pop culture – you find the motives of power interests all circle around money.
Corporate media does an effective job promoting opinion that serves their interests. Admitting this is not cynicism, it is our reality. Controversies are used as tools, simply intended to sway opinion and applied when needed to serve those interests.
That is what they do. That’s what this is. That’s all this is.
Think about the current pearl clutching class of DC congress critters, in conjunction with the recently rolled out Mitt Romney approach, aghast with what they call Trump’s racism; or more recently with Romney’s new talking point: “trickle down racism“…
Contrast the accusation against the reality of the GOPe behavior in the Mississippi 2014 primary where race was specifically used BY THEM to retain Thad Cochran’s seat in the Senate. Was mittens concerned about McConnell’s use of race to advance the GOPe objectives?
Nah, not so much. Funny that.

Yesterday House Speaker Paul Ryan pushed through a Puerto Rico Rescue bill called PROMESA. The details of the bill are fundamentally challenging to understand in scope, however, the key aspect to remember is the underlying benefactor(s) – Wall Street.
While Ryan is severely adverse to PROMESA being called a bailout, that’s exactly what it is – only worse. The plan structurally changes the dynamics of how State debt is repaid, and the considerations for bondholders under the 5th amendment (seizure of private property w/out compensation); which will lead to a guaranteed bondholder bailout.
However, beyond the ‘bailout’ aspect there is a framework to override state legislative authority and use unelected “control board” appointed by congress to subvert citizen voices and make independent decisions.

As you read this press release from David Brat consider the how such legislative usurpation could possibly be considered “conservative“.
DAVID BRAT: Yesterday members of Congress voted in favor of PROMESA, a bill that imposes a control board on Puerto Rico. I opposed this bill, and in an op-ed in the Washington Examiner, I explained why.
“The PROMESA Act creates an unelected, unaccountable ‘control board’ imposed by Congress to manage Puerto Rico’s spending and tax policies for at least five years. Control boards and five-year plans, channeling Stalin: what could go wrong?
