HOLLYWOOD – Ben Affleck’s “Argo,” a film about a fake movie, has earned a very real prize: best picture at the Academy Awards.
From the White House, First Lady Michelle Obama joined Jack Nicholson to help present the final prize. “There are eight great films that have every right, as much a right to be up here as we do,” Affleck said of the other best-picture nominees.
In share-the-wealth mode, Oscar voters spread Sunday’s honors among a range of films, with “Argo” winning three trophies but “Life of Pi” leading with four. (more…)

Specifically, how their progressive ideology disconnects them from business sense. At the time we spotlighted a few specific examples from their ideological organization, and flawed business model. But I want you to listen to some of them. This is ABC News, the same place Jonathan Karl works. They’re not even on the same page. Jonathan Karl is out there saying, “Well, we’re gonna spend $15 billion more.
“The public isn’t gonna really feel this.” Over here, elsewhere at ABC, the full monty, babe, full scare tactic, 100% fearmonger, 57 terrible consequences. “Air travel disruption. Longer security lines at airports. Slower extreme weather forecasts.” Slower extreme weather forecasts? “Greater risk of wildfires.” A greater risk of wildfires because the federal government is only spending $15 billion more than it spent last year? (Via Newsmax) Soledad O’Brien is ending her morning-show contract with CNN and is moving on to form her own documentary production company that will supply the network with programming on a nonexclusive basis.
O’Brien’s departure has been coming for some time. Even before president Jeff Zucker took over in January, he said he planned to cancel O’Brien’s program, “Starting Point.”
CNN hasn’t formally announced the details for a new morning show to replace O’Brien’s. (more…)
The legacy of The Obama Curse continues. Last week Ray’s Hell Burger restaurant closed after being the spotlight of President Obama’s visits.
Prior to that Chet’s restaurant in Ohio closed it’s doors after Obama stopped by and mentioned them in one of his political speeches.
Then there was Cardinal Fastner, the Ohio company who went bankrupt after Obama visited and gave a speech at their plant….
….And who can forget Caterpillar Co., after Obama praised their intention to hire more workers if the stimulus was passed. The stimulus passed and Caterpillar was forced to lay off 2,500 workers.
The latest victim, golfer Tiger Woods, who spent the last weekend with Obama practicing golf only to find himself today losing match play in the very first round of the Match Play Championship. (more…)
For the same reason the media was forbidden from showing the truth about Trayvon Martin’s can of watermelon juice, a New York City grocery store is forbidden from using Obama’s face with advertising for Chicken – Politically Incorrect.
New York – An Upper West Side Whole Foods has removed a sign that used a drawing of President Barack Obama to advertise a sale on chicken after complaints that the ad was offensive.
The sign outside the supermarket on Columbus Avenue and 97th Street featuring an apparent caricature of Obama advertising an upcoming sale on whole organic chicken outraged neighbor Woody Henderson. (more…)
For the same reason it is unlawful NOT to hire illegal immigrants, the Obama administration is now claiming it is unlawful not to hire criminals.
When you pre-screen job applicants based on legal work eligibility status you are adversely impacting job seekers based on race/origin/nationality (disparate impact), a federally protected category. So too, when you pre-screen eligibility based on criminal record you adversely impact blacks.
Not hiring someone because they are illegally in the United States is unlawful by EEOC standards. They are applying the same logic to criminals.
WASHINGTON DC – Criminal background checks have become all the rage in Washington, D.C., as politicians scramble to try to ensure that anyone who ever even thought of owning a gun is subjected to a thorough electronic proctology exam.
However, one group that appears immune to background check fever are the ever helpful Obama officials at the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) and the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP).
The EEOC and OFCCP have each determined that employers who use background checks as one of the determinants of whether to hire a prospective employee may be engaging in prohibited discrimination. (more…)
