No Mistake – President Obama Honors Arafat

The author of this Telegraph article erroneously calls President Obama’s Arafat speech a mistake and an untentional gaffe.    No.   This was not a mistake – the President delivered his speech exactly where he wanted to, with the exact optic he wanted to express.

(UK Telegraph)  It is simply astonishing that the leader of the free world would agree to speak against a backdrop of a murderous terrorist with American and Israeli blood on his hands. What kind of message does this send to America’s enemies when the president of the United States gives a press conference standing in front of a banner celebrating one of the most brutal terrorists in history? It projects a clear signal that Washington is weak in the face of terrorism, and it is an insult to the memory of those who died at the hands of Arafat’s terror network.

While the Obama White House prides itself on having an extremely slick campaign operation, its ineptness and insensitivity in government, not least on the world stage, can be staggering. President Obama, for example, could not even pronounce the name of Burmese freedom fighter Aung San Suu Kyi on his recent visit to Rangoon, referring to her several times as Aung YAN Suu Kyi. He also famously called the Falkland Islands “the Maldives”, and succeeded in offending the whole of Poland when he referred to a ”Polish death camp” in World War Two.  (more…)

U.S Preppers: 3 Million and Counting – When Modern Society Collapses Unto Itself….

Most articles discussing “Prepper Motivation” focus on simplistic words like ‘Apocalypse’, and ‘The End of Civilization’ when they highlight information. In general the media portray ‘those who prepare’ as some kind of goof or wing-nut; That is profoundly unfair.

Think of those people in Long Island after Hurricane Sandy, do you think their lives would have been better if they were prepared to be totally self-sufficent for a month or more.

The example of anarchy in New Orleans should still be fresh on the minds of those who would ridicule or diminish such prudence, yet they do it anyway.

Having had personal experience in dealing with the total fracturing of societal rules of governance, along with the collapse of civil and moral rules on self-controlling behavior, I can tell you it ain’t pretty…. and most people have no idea how bad it can get – QUICKLY.

Prepper 1

(Daily Mail Article)  Imagine if suddenly, and completely without warning, the world experienced a total blackout – no electricity, no mobile phones, no banks, no internet, no TV, no emergency services. Nothing.

Highways quickly become jammed with cars that have ground to a halt; an aeroplane falls from the sky; a satellite view of the planet shows it rapidly plunging into darkness.

As it becomes apparent that the lights are never coming back on, nations are plunged into chaos, mass riots break out in major cities and, without electricity, governments are toppled. Into the vacuum step ad-hoc militias, armed and ready to enforce their own rule of law. (more…)

Mission Impossible – Bloomberg Ponders An Impossible Theory: We just got to start to thinking a little bit more about the implications of things before we rush to legislate and rush to legislate everything.”

A hilarious attempt by Mayor McCheese to discuss logic and avoid unintended consequences.   Hilarious, because that would actually require progs to think about legislative constructs without emotional attachment – they are constitutionally incapable of such thinking.   Everything is about emotion for a progressive.

undefinedNEW YORK – When Governor Andrew Cuomo quickly passed tough new gun control measures in January, he faced a raft of criticism for skipping the standard deliberative period and allegedly ignoring the more minute legislative details. The criticism recently found new substance with the bill’s apparently unworkable 7-bullet magazine requirement, which Albany is now working to reverse. And, on his weekly radio show with John Gambling, Mayor Michael Bloomberg said that “one criticism” may indeed have merit.

“This is true of a lot of things,” Mr. Bloomberg said after accusing an unrelated City Council bill of having unintended side-effects. “You asked before about the magazines in Albany. We just got to start to thinking a little bit more about the implications of things before we rush to legislate and rush to legislate everything.” (more…)

Florida Atlantic University The “stomp on Jesus” Class Called “Intercultural Communication”….

I read about this story last week and was waiting to see what “official” position the university took.   A College professor, Dr. Deandre Poole told students to write the name  “Jesus” on a piece of paper and throw it on the ground to stomp on it.

Not surprisingly one student took exception, refused, complained and was then suspended.

The school initially said this:

[…]  Dr. Poole was conducting a classroom exercise from a textbook entitled “Intercultural Communication: A Contextual Approach, 5th Edition” and released this statement to CBS12: ”Faculty and students at academic institutions pursue knowledge and engage in open discourse. While at times the topics discussed may be sensitive, a university environment is a venue for such dialogue and debate.”  (link)

Municipal Grievance Exploitation – Jesse Jackson Calls For Mass Protests Against Detroit Emergency Manager…

Watching how the Grievance Industrialist Jesse Jackson uses language to divide, obfuscate, ignore and avoid the reality of his own ideology is laughable.

An all black historically corrupt city council, together with a black mayor, in a predominently black city, have run the place into the ground.   [The race of the aforementioned is noted only because of the approach by 2-J’s]  Now 2-J’s has the nerve to say an emergency city manager (also black), designed to try and save the city, is the equivalent of a plantation owner because he is appointed by a white governor:

“As opposed to having a city council that’s democratically elected and a mayor, you’ll have a plantocracy, a plantation-ocracy, replacing a democracy,” Jackson said.

[…]  Jackson was joined by Detroit City Councilwomen JoAnn Watson and Brenda Jones, U.S. Rep. John Conyers and a union representative at a rally inside city hall that drew  about 100 people. He also called on the U.S. Department of Justice to intervene to protect Detroiters’ rights to vote. (more…)

Dear Leader Exploring Ways To Reduce Our Nuclear Defenses Without The Required “Advice And Consent” Of Senate

Obama - KaboomWASHINGTON DC – President Barack Obama’s efforts to significantly curtail U.S. nuclear weapons without seeking the proper Senate approval are at best misguided and worst illegal, sources tell Newsmax.

Obama is exploring opportunities to achieve the reductions in infrastructure and capability he seeks – including a drawdown to 1,000 weapons – without seeking the advice and consent of the Senate that international treaties require.

Efforts to push the boundaries of the New Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty (New START) with Russia are ill-advised, sources say. A proposal that seeks to achieve nuclear arms reductions outside the framework of New START, however, would run afoul of the law.

Because It’s All He Knows – Obama Compares Lives Of Palestinians To Treatment Of Blacks….. ((Groan))

Universal Truth:  We repeat those things we know well, and we do those things we view as important to us….

JERUSALEM — On his stops in the Holy Land Thursday, President Barack Obama turned again and again to a subject not obviously connected to the current troubles in the mideast: the struggles of African Americans in the United States.

undefined

One of the parallels the president drew—comparing the plight of Palestinians to that of blacks in the U.S.—has drawn criticism in the past when he raised it in this region.

During a press conference with Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas, Obama said young people he’d met on the trip made him think of his own children. (more…)

“It’s just a jump to the left”…. Bone Throwing 101: Harry Reid takes it back and says he’ll send the DiFi plan to the floor for a vote, well, if he has too…..

WASHINGTON — Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) will introduce gun control legislation Thursday night that includes a proposal for universal background checks.

“Later tonight, I will start the process of bringing a bill to reduce gun violence to the Senate floor,” Reid said in a statement. “This bill will include the provisions on background checks, school safety and gun trafficking reported by the Judiciary Committee. I hope negotiations will continue over the upcoming break to reach a bipartisan compromise on background checks, and I am hopeful that they will succeed. If a compromise is reached, I am open to including it in the base bill. But I want to be clear: in order to be effective, any bill that passes the Senate must include background checks.” (more…)

Stupid Progs – New York Has To Reverse Magazine Ban Because No-One Makes 7 Round Mags…..

Duh…. Ya, think they would consider making car tires illegal if no car moved on anything except tires?….. Prolly.

undefined(Via WeaselZippers) Gov. Andrew Cuomo said Wednesday the state is not rolling back the nation’s most stringent gun control measure by keeping 10-bullet magazines legal, even though they would have been outlawed in a bill that passed earlier this year.

Cuomo and legislative leaders in state budget talks plan to change the law that was passed in January before a provision kicks in banning the sale of 10-bullet magazines. The gun measure outlaws the purchase of any magazines that carry more than seven bullets, the nation’s most stringent limit. That would have put a severe limit on the sale of guns with industry standard 10-bullet magazines when the provision of the law went onto effect on April 15. (more…)
