Another “No Knock” Police Raid In Iowa Raises SERIOUS Issues – Police Justify Force Of Raid Because Resident Was “legally registered gun owner”…

There is a lot to digest in this story.  A LOT !

52-policeThe Summary Version is:  IOWA Police execute a search warrant based on suspected credit card fraud – However, they smashed down the door in a “no-knock” raid replete with full battle armor.   Then the police tried to destroy the CCTV system which was recording their behavior.

When questioned about the ridiculously excessive “use of force” things get worse because the police justify the execution of the warrant, the extreme measures invoked, based around the principle the occupant was a legally registered gun owner and therefore represented a more significant risk to them.   <—- Think about that.

Personally I have come to the difficult determination that the police are now a danger to us.  We have as much likelihood to be victimized by paid law enforcement as we do criminals.   It has taken me several years to accept this ‘new-normal’ reality with police militarization; however, there is simply too much empirical evidence to dismiss the obvious.    This story is only atypical in that the owner had CCTV systems to document the reality.

Several reports to review.   Here is the original storyFamily calls Ankeny police raid excessive –  Justin Ross was in the bathroom next to his bedroom when a squad of Ankeny police officers rammed through a side door of his home. (more…)

The Desperation Of Wendy Davis Continues – Now She Supports “Open Carry” Gun Laws…

It’s obvious what is happening within the Texas gubernatorial race and Democrat candidate Wendy Davis.     Sunlight upon the “real” life story of Ms. Davis has shown her life story narrative was foundationally false, so now she is obfuscating and trying to find niche issues which will afford her some electoral support.

wendy davis shotgunThe humorous aspect is all the new platform adjustments, the politically convenient changes, are diametrically opposite from the party she is a member of.  She is floundering aimlessly, and trying to position herself in favor of the voters.

(Via The Hill) How desperate has Wendy Davis become? This desperate:

Rising Democratic star and gubernatorial candidate Wendy Davis has joined her top Republican rival in supporting a proposed “open carry” law. It would allow people with concealed handgun licenses to wear a pistol on their hip, in full view, while in public.

Davis has said she supports expanding gun rights in Texas. But in a statement to The Associated Press, she said that includes open-carry — a position that puts her at odds with her own party but could keep her from alienating gun rights advocates in a deeply conservative state where the Second Amendment is sacrosanct.

This is remarkable, the latest in a string of rightward moves that must have the more honest among Davis’s backers wondering why they’re bothering. (more…)

Newspaper Chain Plans To Build National “proprietary” Database Of CCW Holders Using State-By-State Public Records Requests…

Color me not shocked.  After the fiasco in New York last year I’m actually surprised it took this long for a bunch of pontificating progs to go in this direction….

Handgun(Via Fox News)  A national newspaper chain with nearly 100 publications and 1.6 million readers is considering building “state-by-state databases” on concealed weapons permit holders, according to an internal e-mail.

The plan, laid out in an email from a top editor at North Carolina-based Civitas Media, could be similar to a controversial project a New York state newspaper carried out in 2012 which included an online map that identified gun owners in two counties by name and address. Civitas’ database project was detailed the plan in a Jan. 19 e-mail to newsrooms in 11 states, including Ohio, Illinois and Pennsylvania.

“The second project examines the explosion of ‘conceal and carry’ gun permits across the U.S.,” wrote Jim Lawitz, Civitas’ director of content, in an e-mail first obtained by the Buckeye Firearms Association. “Through public records act requests, we will attempt to build state-by-state databases that list those who have the right to carry a concealed weapon.”  (read more)

Maryland Public Records Request Response - MDTAP

No recent story and/or research has attracted as much attention.   We have received dozens of requests by Maryland residents who are familiar with aspects to this story.  Each of them with a similar disposition and requesting our continued research.

Many more people within Maryland law enforcement, both current and retired, as well as people within the Maryland judiciary, appear to have some familiarity and knowledge over what the MCAC hub is all about  Maryland Coordination and Analysis Center.

People inside the LEO intelligence network appear just as concerned as those outside it; they too want to see the process exposed.   However, unfortunately, as you can see, some do not.   Yes, this is what’s known as the all too familiar “active investigation” denial.

California Democrat Shows Why Land Mines Carry Warning Label “Do Not Eat”…

Juice and Birdman, both short straws, were on a telethon for malaria trip when AJ slapped his neck for the eleven millionth time and frustratingly bitched “why the f**k do I always get the saw palms” and, more importantly, “why do these damned things say do not eat“?….

….The response from the wire holder was blandly delivered: “because, dipsh!t, somewhere in the vast world of the unflinching stupid, a dumbass is going to try and eat it“.

UNREAL: Unarmed But Legal Florida CCW Gun Owner Drives Through Maryland – Then It Goes Downhill….

UPDATE: We have submitted a public records request and received confirmation (see bottom)

John Filippidis, showing the pistol he sometimes carries in his pocket, recounted a story of being stopped by a Maryland police officer recently.TAMPA TRIBUNE  – John Filippidis, silver-haired family man, business owner, employer and taxpayer, is also licensed to carry a concealed firearm.

He’d rather he didn’t feel the need, “but things aren’t like they used to be. The break-ins, the burglaries, all the crime. And I carry cash a lot of the time. I’m constantly going to the bank.

“I wanted to be able to defend my family, my household and the ground I’m standing on. But I’m not looking for any trouble.”

Filippidis keeps his gun — a palm-sized Kel-Tec .38 semiautomatic, barely larger than a smartphone in a protective case — in one of two places, always: in the right-hand pocket of his jeans, or in the safe at home.

“There are kids in the house,” Filippidis says, “and I don’t think they’d ever bother with it, but I don’t want to take any chances.”

He’s not looking for any trouble, after all. (more…)
