Mark Bingham died Sept. 11, 2001, while saving countless lives. Just how many will never be known.
Teamsters President Jimmy Hoffa had some profane, combative words for Republicans while warming up the crowd for President Obama in Detroit, Michigan on Monday.
“We got to keep an eye on the battle that we face: The war on workers. And you see it everywhere, it is the Tea Party. And you know, there is only one way to beat and win that war. The one thing about working people is we like a good fight. And you know what? They’ve got a war, they got a war with us and there’s only going to be one winner. Florida’s young Republican Senator Marco Rubio gave an important speech at the Reagan Presidential Library in California that has set off the liberal talking head universe.

His Republican rivals for 2012 have gone to town on the Labor Day weekend news of zero job growth, using the same line of attack Hillary used in 2008: Enough with the big speeches! What about some action?
Polls show that most Americans still like and trust the president; but they may no longer have faith that he’s a smarty-pants who can fix the economy. (more…)
The National Transitional Council reportedly said it had confirmed that Khamis had died in fighting close to Tripoli and was buried near Bani Walid, Gaddafi’s last stronghold, which on Sunday was besieged by the rebels. No further details have yet been reported. Khamis’s death has been reported at least twice throughout the uprising. Gaddafi’s fifth son, born in 1983, was head of the 32nd Reinforced Brigade, known as the “Khamis Brigade”, heavily armed and strictly trained. They have been accused of ignoring the rules of war and persecuting civilians. Tribal elders from Bani Walid, a bastion of support for Muammar (more…)
MANCHESTER, N.H. – Texas Gov. Rick Perry on Saturday drew nearly 700 residents of the Granite State to two house parties, demonstrating that the newest GOP presidential hopeful’s drawl and socially conservative message isn’t dampening his drawing power in this state of famously flinty Yankees.
Stumping for votes in a state that will hold the nation’s first presidential primary early next year — and is home to one of his top advisers, David Carney — Perry drew a link between the culture of individualism that exists in the Lone Star State and New England. (more…)
