This coming Wednesday, November 9th…for the first time ever, all radio and TV/cable networks will simultaneously participate in a nationwide test of the emergency alert system (EAS). For the first time ever, their participation will be mandatory as well…all accomplished by Executive Order #13407. Considering we made it through 9/11 without resorting to such measures, what could Mr. Obama and the Director of FEMA, who has been delegated authority over the program, possibly see as the trigger to necessitate its real usage in the future? I stepped out of my car on a sunny 90 degree Phoenix afternoon, but it soon felt closer to 100 degrees by the time I reached the all cement environs of Cesar Chavez Plaza. A quick scan showed about seven or eight makeshift tents, but I was soon told that these were not really tents. They were “canopies”, since neither tents, blankets, pillows, or sleeping bags were allowed by the Phoenix Police. I was most surprised to see only about 40-50 people milling around the site, hardly the numbers nearing the thousand reported on October 15th, the first night of the Occupation. I’ve since found out the group has several teams of roughly 40-50 people who show up in planned rotations. (more…)
What we saw at the “revolution”…
(ConservARTive)…Many curious citizens and media outlets came to the first Occupy Atlanta event, and were visible shocked and confused by the consistent Marxism employed by the group. People abandoned their individuality and liberty to be absorbed into a hypnotizing collective. The facilitator made it clear that he was not a “leader” and that everyone was completely equal; words often spoken by leftists, but in this case they actually applied their philosophy. (more…)
Not much need for translation with this video, just watch the kid. Papa keeps teasing his little bambino…song after song, but watch the tyke’s face light up when papa finally plays “Il Zeppelin. La musica!” Then watch the kid’s hands start going when the drums kick in. I’m telling you, he’s going to be a drummer.

Permission for futuristic new Apple headquarters secured by Jobs in June
(DailyMail)…Despite knowing he was dying, Steve Jobs worked for more than a year on the products that he believed would safeguard the company’s future. It was also revealed today that Jobs fought hard to get plans approved for a spaceship-style company headquarters in California. It will be big enough to hold 12,000 employees in a park-like setting near the existing base in Cupertino. He appeared at a town council meeting in June to plead for the planning go ahead.

(USATODAY)….INDIANAPOLIS – Federal authorities are probing the actions of a Saudi Arabian man who tried to get into the cockpit of an American Airlines flight to here. Indianapolis Airport police said Abdulaziz Mubarak Alshammari, 20, was pulled away from the cabin door by another passenger a half hour before Flight 1936 from New York to Indianapolis International Airport landed at about 10 p.m. Wednesday.
Alshammari, who said he is a student at the University of Indianapolis, appeared confused when flight attendants and police questioned him, according to a police report. Investigators photocopied a note Alshammari wrote in Arabic while on the plane. Scott Hall, a spokesman for the University of Indianapolis, said the school has no record of Alshammari being a student there. (more…)

During a Thursday afternoon press conference, Nancy Pelosi offered glowing praise for all those participating in the “Occupy Wall Street” protests. “God bless them,” Pelosi said, “for their spontaneity. It’s independent…it’s young, it’s spontaneous, and it’s focused. And it’s going to be effective. The message of the protesters is a message for the establishment everyplace,” said the House Democrats’ leader. “No longer will the recklessness of some on Wall Street cause massive joblessness on Main Street.” (more…)
From American Crossroads…”Because the first step is admitting you have a problem.”
(RightScoop)…I’m not sure if I’ve ever heard a more offensive interview on MSNBC than the one I just heard from Lawrence O’Donnell with Herman Cain. In one interview O’Donnell managed to accuse Herman Cain of not only sitting on the sidelines during the civil rights movement, but also of dodging the Vietnam war. His contempt for a black Republican has never been more clear.
At one point in the interview, O’Donnell asked Cain where America would be right now if Rosa Parks took his dad’s advice to stay out of trouble and just sit in the back of the bus. Seriously. It was like he was trying to prove that Cain hadn’t earned his black skin or something. It was terribly offensive and I hope Cain never steps foot again in the studios of MSNBC. (more…)
(PJTatler)…“Reid triggers nuclear option to change rules, prohibit filibusters,” The Hill reports:
Reid appealed a ruling from the chair that Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) does not need consent to force a vote on a motion to suspend the rules to consider an amendment after cloture has already been approved.
The maneuver is highly arcane but momentous. If a simple majority of the Senate votes to uphold Reid’s appeal, the Senate’s rules will have been changed by the unilateral action of one party. (more…)
