Tomb of the Unknown ChristmasOur Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy Name. Thy kingdom come. THY WILL BE DONE, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but DELIVER US FROM EVIL.

For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever and ever. Amen †

Ann Romney visits “The View”

I didn’t see the entire show, but can share the two videos that are currently available.  Ann is marvelous!  I hear she did pretty well during the rest of the show, setting Whoopie Goldberg straight on the Mormon religion (for one thing).

Recounted from Chicks On The Right:

Ann Romney went on The View today.  She went without Mitt, and I give her a crapload of credit for even walking foot into that studio full of liberal harpies plus one token conservative chick (who usually gets steamrolled).  Of course, Joy barely spoke, and her disdain for Romney was palpable, while Whoopi tried to grill her on Mitt not ever being in the military.  Which is strange, because I don’t remember Whoopi (or any liberals in the lamestream media, for that matter) grilling Michelle on HER husband not ever being in the military. President G.W. Bush Speaks To The Nation, September 2001

The following video incorporates an audio recording that was made by a Detroit radio station, WOMC FM, in October 2001. It contains excerpts from two speeches – President Bush’s oval office speech the evening of September 11, 2001, and the one he gave before the joint session of Congress on September 20. The music is taken from a composition by James Horner for the 1989 movie, Glory. I believe the selections used are A Call To Arms, and An Epitaph To War.

I have always loved the audio, as it touched my heart and uplifted at a time when we all needed it very much. The photos are ones that I collected after Sept 11, 2001.

Memories of Sept 11, 2001

The thing that really stands out in my memories of Sept 11, 2001, is the astonishing unity of the majority of Americans – sadness, love of country, enormous anger towards our enemies.  Remember the members of Congress standing on the Capitol steps, singing God Bless America?

When Needed, Old Glory Is Always There

Written by Mitch Albom, and published in the Detroit News/Detroit Free Press, September 23, 2001.

That our flag was still there through the gloom and despair, hanging on porches, flapping in schoolyards, painted on cheeks of young mothers whose husbands are leaving to face the rockets’ red glare, bombs bursting in air and our flag is still there.
