PANOLA COUNTY, MS (localmemphis.com)–The murder case of Jessica Chambers has gripped the nation. One month after the Panola County teen was found burning alive, comments continue to flood social media.
The ‘Justice For Jessica’ Facebook page has posted a petition and a letter to Mississippi Governor Phil Bryant asking for help.
Family, friends and even strangers are all working together. They’re asking the governor to step in to make sure the case doesn’t go cold.
The Facebook page has nearly 150-thousand “likes”. Jessica’s mother, Lisa, says she appreciates the support and just wants justice for her daughter.
“With every breath my heart breaks,” said Lisa Chambers.
A simple “how are you?” will cause Lisa Chambers to break down in tears. Her heart is broken.
“You just don’t have any clue how much,” said Chambers.
It’s been exactly one month since her 19-year-old daughter, Jessica, was burned alive.
“I can’t believe somebody hasn’t talked. All the friends she had…I know somebody knows something. How can…it has to eat at them.”
Since the day Jessica was killed, people have thrown around theory after theory. Some have criticized investigators for not making an arrest by now. Although Lisa says has faith in the authorities working the case, she would like to hear from them every once in awhile. (read more)
