Answer for yourself what’s wrong with this story

Something about riots to gain $250 sneakers – contrast against the continual protestations of downtrodden and impoverished minority groups that need additional government assistance to survive – just seems to belay common sense.

(New York)  Police say a large crowd gathered outside a SoHo store for the release of a pricey new sneaker had to be dispersed when it spilled into the street.

Police say about 300 people lined up in front of the Supreme New York on Lafayette Street around 5 p.m. Wednesday. By 8 p.m., the crowd had nearly doubled. Police say they dispersed the crowd due to safety concerns. The store was closed at the time.
Video posted on social media sites showed a peaceful but chaotic scene outside of the store.

The $250 Supreme/Nike Air Foamposite was to go on sale at the store on Thursday.  Supreme later issued a statement:
“Due to concern for public safety, NYPD has forced us to not sell the Supreme/Nike Foamposites and accompanying clothing in our New York Store.  These items will be available on supremenewyork.com tomorrow (Thursday) at 11am EST.”
Police say there were no arrests or injuries.  (read more)
