How entrenched do you have to be?….. How dependent on racism can a person be?…. Some race-dependent whacko’s will go to any length just to prove their ideology or beliefs are true. Such is the case of Ms. Sharmeka Moffit, or Ms. Natalie Jackson, or Mr. Benjamin Crump, or?…… Twisted Minds.
It’s the Laura Wilcox Syndrome
Sharmeka Moffitt from Lousiana said three random men in white hoodies doused her with flammable liquid and torched her while she was walking. Then they marked KKK on her car. Despite media reports and speculation to the contrary, Ms. Moffitt was not wearing an Obama T-shirt.
Original Story LOUSIANA – Sharmeka Moffitt, 20, of New Orleans has been seriously injured by possible members of the Ku Klux Klan. Reports state that Moffitt suffered severe burns on more than half of her body and the initials KKK smeared onto the hood of her car.
Moffitt believes the crime could be race-related and officers are investigating the case as such. According to Moffitt, three men wearing white hooded sweatshirts or hats approached her on Sunday night and doused her with a flammable liquid before lighting a match and setting her on fire. She suffered burns on more than half of her body and requires surgery for treatment.
“Both of her arms, and they are third degree burns, down her chest and legs-one. Basically, her arms are real bad,” her mother, Edna Moffitt told KSLA News.
Police also discovered the letters KKK, along with a racial slur, smeared on the top of her car. While acts by the KKK are rare, Otis Chisley, president of the local NAACP, said activity is still “prevalent throughout Louisiana.”
“It’s hidden but it exists,” he added.
“This is a horrific event for our community,” said Sheriff Kevin Cobb. “It makes everyone uneasy. It is our hope that everyone stands together at this time, and follow the information that is gathered, follow the facts, follow the evidence and hopefully that will lead us to justice in this case.” (read more)
The Shreveport Times is reporting that police are expected to announce that a Winnsboro woman set herself on fire and made up her story about being the victim of a hate crime.
She claimed three men doused her with a flammable liquid, set her on fire, and wrote racial slurs on her car. Moffitt, 20, is in critical condition at a hospital in Shreveport with burns covering 60% of her body. (article)
Police announced Tuesday they believe Sharmeka Moffitt fabricated a story about being attacked and burned Sunday night at Civitan Park in Winnsboro by three men who wrote “KKK” on the hood of her car, and instead set herself afire.
Franklin Parish Sheriff Kevin Cobb said during a press conference at the Franklin Parish Courthouse this afternoon that Moffitt’s DNA and fingerprints were found on the lighter as well as charcoal lighter fluid used in the incident.
Police say they are still unsure why Moffitt set herself on fire. It will now be up to the district attorney’s office to determine whether she will face charges for the fabrication.
“Basically we had to follow the facts,” Cobb said. “This was a disturbing case for all involved. All indications show this was a self-inflicted situation.”
Moffitt, 20, told police she was walking on a park trail when she was attacked and set afire by three men wearing white T-shirt hoodies. She remains at LSU Health Sciences Center in Shreveport in critical condition.
In a statement, Moffitt’s family said they were sorry for any problems which may have been caused by Moffitt’s actions.
“Our family is devastated to learn the circumstances surrounding our daughter’s injuries,” the statement said. “While this was not the resolution we had expected, it is a resolution, and we appreciate the thorough investigation by the local and state police as well as federal agencies.
“We are sincerely sorry for any problems this may have caused and wish to express our appreciation for the outpouring of love, prayers and support we have received from friends, acquaintances, church organizations and government officials.
“Over the coming days and weeks, our focus will be on Sharmeka and her recovery. We ask that you continue to pray for her and for our family, and that you respect our privacy at this difficult time.” (more)
