On their first night in the field, the latest Public Policy Polling survey in Michigan has Rick Santorum leading Mitt Romney, along with the key finding that only 20% of Republicans surveyed considered Romney to really be from Michigan.

Wow….considering Romney took Michigan back in 2008 with 51% of the vote, I find it hard to see how he continues if he gets whipped in the state he was born and raised in.  His dad was a very popular governor in Michigan.   I’d think such a loss in one of his ‘home’ states would hold huge symbolic value.

The Michigan primary is on February 28th.  Interesting fact…PPP has also been the most accurate pollster this year.
