Michelle Malkin to GOP ‘Cupcake’ Candidates: If You Can’t Handle Bret Baier, You Aren’t Ready for ‘Liberal Media Velociraptors’
(FNInsider)…Newt Gingrich didn’t mince words in a recent interview, saying that without a doubt he’s the most conservative person running for president in 2012. While his accomplishments from decades ago may not be up for debate, political pundit Michelle Malkin says it’s the former House speaker’s activities of late that conservatives such as herself have problems with.
On Thursday’s Fox and Friends, Malkin ticked off a short laundry list of Gingrich’s questionable politics, including his “gallivanting around” with Reverend Al Sharpton and Arne Duncan in recent year promoting Obama’s education agenda, as well as his “dabbling with third-wave progressivism.”
So, where does that leave Malkin when it comes to which candidate she’d feel comfortable putting up against incumbent Obama?
“That’s the quandary that so many of us face,” she said. “You look at Mitt Romney, and he’s ill-equipped to go after some of these lapses of Newt Gingrich’s … so many of these candidates are cupcakes. They can’t even handle press questions from Bret Baier. I mean, they’re going to have to go after the velociraptors of the liberal media in the general election!”
