(Via HuffPo)  “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno,” NBC’s flagship late night program, has laid off 20 staffers, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Deadline reports that Leno himself took a “tremendous” pay cut as well.

Details of the departments that will be affected by the downsizing are currently unknown, nor is it known why the layoffs took place.

The news of the layoffs is particularly surprising, as “The Tonight Show” usually comes in first place in both ratings and important demographics. Since Leno reclaimed the show after the 2010 Conan O’Brien debacle, the ratings have steadily declined, and is occasionally beaten by “Late Show with David Letterman” in the ratings and Comedy Central’s Stewart/Colbert pairing in the 18-49 demographic. Some things President Obama does just make you shake your head in disbelief.   During the Iftar dinner Obama heaped praise on Huma Abedin the controversial Hillary aide, wife to disgraced penis-baring Congressman Anthony Weiner and daughter to radical Islamic Muslim Brotherhood supporters, for her “patriotism”.

WASHINGTON (Reuters) – President Barack Obama on Friday called Huma Abedin, a top aide to Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, an “American patriot” after a group of Republican lawmakers accused her of having ties to the Muslim Brotherhood, an Islamist political organization.

“She has been nothing less than extraordinary in representing our country and the democratic values that we hold dear,” Obama said at a White House Iftar dinner celebrating the Islamic holy month of Ramadan.

“The American people owe her a debt of gratitude because Huma is an American patriot and an example of what we need in this country — more public servants with her sense of decency, her grace and her generosity of spirit.” […]

Abedin, a Muslim, was seated on Obama’s right at the dinner and appeared visibly moved as the president spoke to a room full of religious leaders, elected officials and diplomats. (more…)

Believe it or not there actually was a time when President Obama said we as a nation, needed to reform Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security, and he actually advocated for the very reform which is included in the Paul Ryan plan.  

Alas, the personal goal of re-election has taken over doing the hard but necessary thing; and now the rhetoric of “class warfare” has once again to take center stage for this election cycle with Obama proclaiming the richest Americans are not paying their fair share.

Much has been written about how disingenuous it is to advocate such propositions when the truth of taxation and spending falls far away from the position of the president. Yet, even without a single day in office with any federal budget he will proclaim his fiscal credentials and espouse his opinion of being a fiscally responsible executive to the worlds largest economy.

We have shared extensively about the Obama financial hypocrisy, and perhaps it is a solid reference for others to re-familarize yourself and refer his advocates to a prior speech filled with similar tones and promises in June of 2010. 

Listen to President Obama discuss the structural deficit, the economy and his opinion on resolution, there are some very informative, and in hindsight, highly hypocritical considerations which given the events over the past two to three years should be called into contrast. (more…)

I was enjoying the Olympics until this idiot Leo Manzano stepped up to win a Silver Medal in the 1,500 meter race, and put his multi-cultural progressive, and selfish, self on full display.

Manzano came to the United States illegally at the age of 4-years-old. Brought by his parents who illegally crossed the border 23 years ago. Eventually he became an American citizen and represented the US on the Olympic team. However, after winning a medal he pranced around with the US flag and the flag of Mexico, proclaiming he won for both America and Mexico.

Sorry Leo, Americans are not hyphenated.  If you wanted to race for Mexico, then go there train, live and race.   This antithetical American exhibition was a big mistake.   Don’t think so?  Well, just watch the backlash.  Watch what happens now as the potential sponsors, or those Madison Avenue types, that have sought his representation will only come from one nation, Mexico.   This guy has just opened up a pandora’s box……. 

(Read the Full Story at CNN)   […]  After Manzano finished his race and secured his medal, he did what athletes typically do at the Olympics. He held up his country’s flag — the Stars and Stripes.

The 27-year-old was born in Mexico, but the United States is his country now. His father migrated here illegally from the city of Dolores Hidalgo. Manzano was brought here when he was 4. Like most immigrants, they came in search of greater opportunity. And they found it — for themselves, and their children.

That little boy eventually became a U.S. citizen. And then, after a lot of hard work and thousands of hours of training, he got the chance to represent his country and compete in the Olympics. And, to put the cherry on the sundae, he actually wins a silver medal. The last time an American won a medal of any kind in the 1500 meters was 44 years ago.

You can’t help but be proud of Manzano and the country that allowed him the opportunity to fulfill his potential.

So why did Manzano carry two flags with him on his victory lap? As the world looked on, he held up both the U.S. flag and the Mexican flag. Not a good look. And not a good idea. (more…)

NBC’s Chuck Todd Reporting that Paul Ryan has been selected as the official Vice-Presidential nominee.   Both Tim Pawlenty and Ron Portman have been notified by Tag Romney that Paul Ryan was selected.   CNN Sources John King and Gloria Borger (4) also confirm Romney / Ryan is the ticket….

Mitt Romney will announce Paul Ryan as his vice presidential candidate Saturday 9am at an event in Virginia, his campaign said.

KANSAS CITY, MO (KCTV) –  An elderly couple is recovering Tuesday after they were brutally beaten inside their south Kansas City home.  The woman, 84, was also raped, according to a police report.

Tony L. Putman, 18, of Kansas City was charged with six felonies Tuesday afternoon. The charges include one count of rape and two counts of robbery.

The couple’s ordeal began about 1:30 p.m. Monday when a man broke into their home near 73rd Street and Campbell Avenue. Entry was gained through a basement window, which was broken.

The 93-year-old man was home alone when the suspect began to ransack the house and attacked him, police said.

Putman hit the man in the face and bound him with belts, according to court documents.  In the meantime, the man’s 84-year-old wife came home. She had been at the bank where she had gotten $400. (more…)

Control of the media messaging is the most important aspect to successful propaganda campaign.   This simple truth has been the same for generations.

One only has to think back a few months to Wisconsin and the recall/re-run elections.  The legacy media were predicting massive wins for the union led recall effort.   MSNBC was obviously the worst, but every channel on television, and every media print outlet was telling you it was going to be either:  A) A blow out victory for anti-Walker, or B) A neck and neck close election down to the wire.

All based on their polling of course.   Polling which they bleated about ad-infinitum around the clock 24/7… To support their position.

The TV media had scheduled “All Nighters”, with panel discussions filled with political pundits and ideological guests appearing to discuss the anti-Walker movement and how it reflected a “shift in the nation” toward Democrats and Progs.

MSNBC – “we’ll be here all night anticipating a nail biter”.   Then, on the actual election day itself, the pundits were squealing with joy at the “exit polling” which was showing a really “tight” race with Governor Scott Walker losing, “barely losing”, but losing nonetheless.

Oh how the analysts had themselves worked up into an absolute frenzy by the time the polls closed at 9pm Eastern. (more…)

Frances Robles has become is the most pathetic excuse for a one-hit-wonder journalist.  With only one storyline to occupy her time, she spent dozens of hours putting this article about “Bloggers and Trayvon Martin Case” together. 

There is even a petition to see her dispatched to the land of irrelevence. 

Read her latest diatribe, and ask yourself a question.  

What value does this have to a reader?   Other than page/space filler what is it about, and who actually would invest the time to write about, what, exactly? 

It sure would be nice to see this much effort or energy in, say, well, Lake Mary Florida, for a few days talking to “actual people” about, one of Robles’ most, well, recent propaganda accusations.  

My hat is off to all the folks who refused her contact requests, and I know there are many TreeHouse visitors on that list.   And to those website operators who willingly participated in her sophomoric attempt at journalism, you should be ashamed.   Here is a portion of her scribble, or you can GO HERE for the whole crayon:
