Air Force One landed at Osan Air Base outside the capital Seoul.  President Trump and First Lady Melania arrive to a red carpet as the President begins his 24-hour state visit with a ceremonial military honor guard arrayed on the airport tarmac.
The White House says Trump’s trip is intended to demonstrate U.S. resolve toward the assembly of allies united against the looming threat from North Korea.  Despite his weak general disposition, South Korean President Moon Jae-in is a critical component of the strategy.

In the morning (their time 10am) / evening (our time 8pm), President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump will depart Tokyo en route to Pyeongtaek, Republic of Korea.

In the afternoon, the President will have lunch with troops from the United States and the Republic of Korea. The President will then receive an operational briefing. Later in the afternoon, the President and First Lady will participate in an arrival ceremony. The President and the First Lady will then participate in a guest book signing.
The President will then have a bilateral meeting with President Moon Jae-In of the Republic of Korea, before having an expanded meeting. Following the meetings, the President will walk with President Moon.
The President and the First Lady will then have tea and take photographs with President Moon. The President will hold a joint press conference with President Moon. In the evening, the President and the First Lady will attend a state dinner.

President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump attend a State Dinner in Japan as guests of Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and Mrs. Akie Abe at the Akasaka Palace.  At the beginning of the dinner both the Prime Minister and the President offer toasts.

[Transcript] PRIME MINISTER ABE: (As interpreted.) Good evening, everyone. My name is Shinzo Abe. I’m extremely delighted to host tonight’s banquet here at the State Guest House in honor of the very first visit to Japan by my dear friend, President Trump, and Madam First Lady, Ms. Melania Trump.
Yesterday’s golf diplomacy between Donald and me attracted so much attention, and we actually made everything public, except for the score. And, through golf, we could demonstrate to the world how strong the bond is between Japan and the United States.

Following two days of fellowship and diplomacy, President Trump and Prime Minister Shinzo Abe will be holding a joint press conference at the Akasaka Palace in Tokyo, Japan.
Later tonight President Trump and First Lady Melania Trump will join Prime Minister Abe and Mrs. Akie Abe as guests of honor during a state banquet at the Akasaka Palace.
The press conference is expected to start around 2:30pm (local) / 12:30am (U.S. Eastern).

Earlier today President Trump and First Lady Melania Trump were invited to the Emperor’s residence in center of Tokyo.  Upon arrival the president and first lady were greeted by Emperor Akihito and Empress Michiko at the Imperial Residence.

The U.S. President and First Lady arrived in their armored limo and pulled into the covered driveway in front of the entrance. The Japanese emperor and the empress were already in place, standing in front of open glass doors as the president and FLOTUS stepped out of the limo.
The emperor took a couple steps toward Trump, and stepped down a low rise at the entrance greeting President Trump in Japanese.  An interpreter stepped forward to translate, saying, very happy to be able to welcome you.

Earlier tonight President Trump delivered remarks during a meeting of key business leaders in Tokyo Japan.  President Trump began his speech with recognition of the horrific church shooting earlier in Sutherland Springs, Texas:

[Transcript] “Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims and families of todays murderous attack in Sutherland Springs, Texas. This horrible act of evil occurred as the victims and their families were in their place of sacred worship. We cannot put into words the pain and grief we all feel, and we cannot begin to imagine the suffering of those who lost the ones they loved. Our hearts are broken.”

President Trump and First Lady Melania Trump arrived at Ginza Ukatei for dinner at 7:33pm (local) 5:33am (eastern), with good friends PM Shinzo Abe and Mrs. Akie Abe.
The dinner included Hokkaido scallop & white truffle salad, sauteed shizuokas ise ebi bisque and Tajima beef steak (obviously w/ ketchup), according to a Japanese official. At 7:38pm (local) the couples appeared in front of reporters at the restaurant, where President Trump delivered brief remarks:

[Transcript] “Hello everybody. Thank you very much for being here. Were in the midst of having very major discussions on many subjects, including North Korea and trade and were doing very well. Doing very well. Our relationship is really extraordinary. We like each other and our countries like each other. And I dont think weve ever been closer to Japan than we are right now. Its a great honor, its a great honor. Well have dinner tonight. I think well insult everybody (smiling) by continuing to talk about trade. But the time is a little bit limited and then tomorrow is a very busy day.

President Trump and First Lady Melania depart Hawaii at 7:20am (local) / 1:20pm (EST) Saturday for their flight to Japan.  This should be an enjoyable portion of the 12-day trip as President Trump and Prime Minister Shinzo Abe are good friends, and Mrs. Melania Trump and Mrs. Akie Abe have met several times and have a good relationship.

On Sunday morning, President Donald J. Trump and First Lady Melania Trump will arrive in Tokyo, Japan. The President and the First Lady will participate in a Yokota Air Base event. In the afternoon, the President will have lunch with Prime Minister Shinzo Abe of Japan and professional Japanese golfer Mr. Hideki Matsuyama. The President will then golf with Prime Minister Abe and Mr. Hideki Matsuyama. In the evening, the President and the First Lady will have dinner with Prime Minister Abe and Mrs. Akie Abe.
