Death By Bureaucracy

WASHINGTON DC – The Justice Department on Monday unsealed an indictment charging five  individuals allegedly involved in Border Patrol agent Brian Terry’s death, and  announced a reward of up to $1 million for information leading to the arrest of  those suspects still at large.
 
For the first time, federal officials also revealed that Terry and an elite  squad of federal agents initially fired bean bags — not bullets — at a heavily  armed drug cartel crew in the mountains south of Tucson in December 2010. During  the exchange, Terry was shot and killed.
The announcement comes amid an intensifying debate over the department’s  failed Fast and Furious anti-gunrunning operation. Weapons from that program  were found at Terry’s murder scene — Republicans seeking documents pertaining  to Fast and Furious last month escalated their probe by voting to hold Attorney  General Eric Holder in contempt of Congress. Lexus Hybrids Debuted in 2004
You Can’t Fix Stupid – But You Can Vote It Out  (CNSNews.com) — Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood has credited the Obama administration’s work on fuel standards for having “jump started” the development of Lexus hybrids, even though the company debuted its SUV hybrid in 2004.

While discussing vehicle fuel standards at the Aspen Ideas Festival on July 3rd, LaHood said, “I don’t think the car manufacturers would be manufacturing the cars they are manufacturing today as hybrids, if it weren’t for what the president did in signing the executive order and what Lisa (Jackson, EPA Administrator) and I have done over the last three and half years about developing C.A.F.E. (Corporate Average Fuel Economy) standards for automobiles and light trucks that will get 54.4 miles per gallon by 2025.” (more…)

Color me curious.  How many places and what products can you use Food Stamp EBT cards for?  Seriously, honest question.   I had no idea that you could purchase jewelry, tattoos, buy gas, get nails manicured and hair done etc.
I thought the Food Stamp program was to give poor people  food.   Stupid me.
Daily Caller – Massachusetts Democratic Gov. Deval Patrick has vetoed the state legislature’s attempt to ban the use of EBT cards — or food stamps — to purchase items such as tattoos, porn and jewelry.
Patrick vetoed the reforms Sunday while signing the state’s $32.5 billion budget.
According to the Boston Herald, which first reported the veto, the governor berated the legislature’s stab at banning the purchase of specific items like manicures, tattoos, guns, porn, body piercings, jewelry, and bail by saying the move was “political grandstanding” at a time when such reforms are already on track elsewhere. Black Entertainment Television (BET) aired a Trayvon Martin Exclusive hosted by Emmitt Miller on April 20th.     April 20th is the same date of the First Bond Hearing for George Zimmerman and nine days after Mark O’Mara took over as lead defense attorney (4/11).

Pam Bondi phone call to Tracy and Sybrina – Listen to what she says – Remember Pam Bondi and Benjamin Crump are personal friends from the Martin Lee Anderson case.   Bondi was the State Prosecutor and Crump was the Anderson family civil lawyer suing the state of Florida and Bay County.  It was Bondi who talked Rick Scott into selecting Angela Corey as the prosecutor of George Zimmerman.  Ugh, ugh, ugh….. It’s a trap.
Also note how Benjamin Crump lawyerly parses his words regarding Trayvon’s school records.  We know Trayvon was excessively tardy, absent 53 days in the current school year, and serving his Third 10-day suspension at the time he was staying in Sanford.

Yeah, he said that, Mitt Romney’s fault.   Previously it was George Bush’s fault.   Progs never take responsibility for “their” actions.
(Politico)  AFL-CIO President Richard Trumka is out with a scathing statement attacking Mitt Romney and “his Republican allies in Congress” on the June jobs report.

“The cruel reality is Mitt Romney and his Republican allies in Congress are willing to sabotage the recovery in the hope of scoring political points against the President,” said Trumka, whose union endorsed President Obama earlier this year.
Trumka acknowledged the slow jobs growth reflected in Friday’s report, which showed unemployment unchanged at 8.2 percent. (more…)

I’m nobody, and this is just my opinion.   Disregard it, take it with a grain of salt, consider it irrelevant.  I’m certainly not in your shoes, but for what it’s worth:

George, STAY IN JAIL !  – Sometimes the worst thing you can give your opposition is exactly what they want.  The entire bond construct, including restrictions, are beyond ridiculous and absurd.
Save your money, stay in jail.   Take control and use the situation to your advantage.    Use the money you would have spent on freedom to hire a media team to get the truth out.   Frame your own narrative.   Yeah, you have $211,000 to defend yourself against the onslaught, but tell your story. Judge Lester is specifically and intentionally using his power to manipulate the Orlando court system, in a flawed ideological effort to avoid being on the wrong side of those political forces who can bring him down.  It appears George Zimmerman is being set up to fail with the current Bond Ruling.

The Judicial Order establishing bond has been structured and worded with the specific intent of “using” the legal system to produce a  “desired outcome” (key words “using” and “desired”).
IMHO  –  Representation from “outside” Seminole County is needed asap, and serious consideration should be given to keeping GZ in jail for the moment.   Safer ten-fold. (more…)

WASHINGTON – With the Supreme Court giving President Obama’s new health care law a green light, federal and state officials are turning to implementation of the law — a lengthy and massive undertaking still in its early stages, but already costing money and expanding the government.

The Health and Human Services Department “was given a billion dollars implementation money,” Republican Rep. Denny Rehberg of Montana said. “That money is gone already on additional bureaucrats and IT programs, computerization for the implementation.” (more…)
