According to a Facebook post, Somali staffers that work at Minneapolis City Hall declared February 28 “Hijab Day” at City Hall and convinced the police chief and female city council reps to wear hijabs on the job.

This is something the TV media are not reporting to the extent it is an explosive development.  

We know from media reports the two stolen passports were used by two Iranian Nationals.    We have previously been told the passports were used to try and gain entry to Europe their final destination.   However, if this report from the LA Times is accurate EVERYTHING changes and actually aligns with our theory of why the plane was taken.

BEIJING — Stolen passports carried by two Iranian men to board missing Malaysia  Airlines Flight 370 were used last year by two people applying for visas to  work as entertainers in China, according to the head of an entertainment  company. (more…)

The media are clueless, apparently so are Malaysian authorities, so here’s my take:

Malaysian flight 370 was taken by team aligned with Islamist ideology.
The plane was taken for use in a future event.
The Malaysian authorities are: a.) embarrassed by their own security ineptitude, b.) desperate to avoid the appearance of that ineptitude, and c.) unwilling to admit their nation is not compromised entirely of the secular melting pot they espouse to the outside world.   Indeed Malaysia has been yet another nation with internal Islamist conflict despite their diligent efforts to obfuscate in that regard.  (more…)

The pilot moved his wife and 3 kids the day before the plane goes missing and we are only just hearing about this NOW ?   Good grief..

An al-Qaeda supergrass (informer) told a court last week that four to five Malaysian men had been planning to take control of a plane, using a bomb hidden in a shoe to blow open the cockpit door.

(Via UK Daily Mail ) Police are investigating the possibility that  the pilot of missing Flight MH370 hijacked his own aircraft in a bizarre  political protest.
The Mail on Sunday has learned that Captain  Zaharie Ahmad Shah was an ‘obsessive’ supporter of Malaysia’s opposition leader,  Anwar Ibrahim. And hours before the doomed flight left Kuala Lumpur it is  understood 53-year-old Shah attended a controversial trial in which Ibrahim was  jailed for five years.
Campaigners say the politician, the key  challenger to Malaysia’s ruling party, was the victim of a long-running smear  campaign and had faced trumped-up charges. (more…)

Previous reports outlined that immediately after leaving Malaysian airspace and air traffic controllers two separate communications tools were shut down.   The capability to transmit radio messaging was shut down and then, twenty minutes later, both Transponders -the systems which identify aircraft location/status-  were manually turned off.   Now this:

REUTERS – Military radar data suggests a Malaysia Airlines jetliner missing for nearly a week was deliberately flown hundreds of miles off course, heightening suspicions of foul play among investigators, sources told Reuters on Friday.

Analysis of the Malaysia data suggests the plane, with 239 people on board, diverted from its intended northeast route from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing and flew west instead, using airline flight corridors normally employed for routes to the Middle East and Europe, said sources familiar with investigations into the Boeing 777′s disappearance. Malaysian Authorities Do Not Find Missing Plane Where Chinese Satellite Images Showed Possible Debris.

Officials suspect that the plane flew for a total of five hours based on data automatically downloaded and sent back to Rolls Royce – the manufacturers of the Boeing 777′s engines. US counter-terrorism teams are now pursuing the astonishing possibility that the plane and its 239 passengers was diverted to an undisclosed location ‘with the intention of using it later for another purpose’.  (link)

(Via WeaselZippers)  Turkey’s Religious Affairs Directorate (Diyanet) has issued a fatwa stating that kangaroo meat and grasshoppers are “halal” food, but Islam bans eating “badgers, martens, weasels, beavers and sea otters.”
“Islamic scholars agree that ‘halal’ animals that are not mentioned in the Quran and in the hadith [the sayings of the Prophet Muhammad] are those that don’t eat feces and carcasses, and which are therefore neither wild nor coarse,” the Diyanet’s High Committee of Religious Affairs said in response to a citizen’s question.
As such, the fatwa continues, kangaroo is classified in the same category with other “grass eating, clean animals like deer, gazelle and antelope.” Grasshopper is also categorized as “halal” because “there is a special provision in the Sunnah,” it adds, referring to the way of life prescribed as normative for Muslims on the basis of the teachings and practices of Prophet Muhammad. WHERE ARE THESE PEOPLE ?   Events have taken a rather incredible turn in the search for missing Malaysia Airlines Flight 370.
Officials now have changed the entire search area after they reveal the Boeing 777 took an intentional 90° left turn, turned off both tracking transponders, and flew for at least 40 minutes in a totally divergent direction toward Indonesia.

In addition the cell phones of the passengers aboard the flight are still reported to be in working and/or operable condition. (more…)

Weekly Standard – On the eve of the Netanyahu visit to Washington, President Obama gave a lengthy interview to Jeffrey Goldberg that shows a chief executive who has learned next to nothing about the world in his five years in office.

First, kudos to Goldberg: he pressed Obama repeatedly, challenging vague formulations and seeking clarity. Goldberg pushed Obama hard, especially on Iran and Syria.

Obama isn’t good off the cuff, especially when challenged; he is far better with a prepared speech. And what emerged is an awful portrait of the president and his conception of the world.
