(CBN)– New evidence has emerged that the Iranian government sees the current unrest in the Middle East as a signal that the Mahdi–or Islamic messiah–is about to appear. CBN News has obtained a never-before-seen video produced by the Iranian regime that says all the signs are moving into place — and that Iran will soon help usher in the end times. While the revolutionary movements gripping the Middle East have created uncertainty throughout the region, the video shows that the Iranian regime believes the chaos is divine proof that their ultimate victory is at hand. Looks like Secretary Gates and President Obama disagree with the “Responsibility to Protect” principle…... (AFP) — President Barack Obama gave a staunch defense of the US role in the international military mission in Libya Saturday, as he comes under pressure to explain US goals to a public exhausted by wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. Obama’s weekly radio and online address was his most detailed review of the UN-sanctioned action so far, and comes ahead of an address to the nation Monday on the US strategy in Libya.
The shock is not the Muslim Brotherhood in Libya, the shock is a Main Stream Media Outlet CNN finally, however slanted and flawed their view, reporting about it. But in the interest of accuracy I will also attach my researched perspective into some flawed elements within the article itself…/SD
h/t PatriotDreamer (CNN) Dr. Abdulmonem Hresha knows first hand how Moammar Gadhafi’s regime works. He says the seeds of his opposition were sown when he was age 10. He and classmates were taken to witness the public execution of a political opponent of Gadhafi. “They hung him up in front of thousands of small kids,” Hresha said. “He did that to scare people.” (more…)

(AFP)– AL-QAEDA’S offshoot in North Africa has snatched surface-to-air missiles from an arsenal in Libya during the civil strife there, Chad’s President says. Idriss Deby Itno did not say how many surface-to-air missiles were stolen, but told the African weekly Jeune Afrique that he was “100 per cent sure” of his assertion. (more…)
I’m more shocked to find the New York Times actually writing about it…. ht Patriot Dreamer & PhillyCon (NYT-CAIRO) — In post-revolutionary Egypt, where hope and confusion collide in the daily struggle to build a new nation, religion has emerged as a powerful political force, following an uprising that was based on secular ideals. The Muslim Brotherhood, an Islamist group once banned by the state, is at the forefront, transformed into a tacit partner with the military government that many fear will thwart fundamental changes. Is it “Sexist” if it’s true?….. According to The Nation’s Katha Pollitt: ‘YES‘ – Women advocates, both liberal and conservative, are frustrated by the media’s fascination with the narrative that for the first time in American history, women, not men, were supposedly key in pushing for the use of military force against a foreign government. Reports highlight that the three-woman diplomatic team of Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, U.N. Ambassador Susan Rice and the Office of Multilateral and Human Rights Director Samantha Power pushed the male-dominated administration to take military action against Libyan leader Moammar Gaddafi. I’m thinking the unilateral approach would have been better at this point. This is getting ridiculous. It’s just symantics and once again America is left doing all the heavy lifting…….. WASHINGTON (AP)— NATO agreed has to take over part of the military operations against Libya — enforcement of the no-fly zone — after days of hard bargaining among its members. But attacks on the ground will continue to be run by the coalition led by the U.S., which has been anxious to give up the lead role.
NATO Secretary-General Anders Fogh Rasmussen, who announced the NATO agreement late Thursday in Brussels, said the alliance operation would proceed in parallel with the bombing campaign carried out by coalition aircraft. (more…)
