Usually I try to refrain from passing severe judgements against an entire group. With the possible exception of MoveOn.org there are generally people within any group that possess some semblance of capacity for logical thought, and even within MoveOn followers there are some who recognize the rabid collective echo-chamber of supporting Big Labor at every possible opportunity. However, this recent rebuttal article by Think Progress in support of The Muslim Brotherhood is bizarre to say the least. Here is the story: (more…)
Yemen is going to end up in the hands of al-Qaeda Arabian Peninsular, it is not a matter of “if”, it is a matter of “when”, so while the Yemeni President Saleh is in Saudi Arabia rehabilitating from assassination attempt (certain never to return) chaos reigns. Into this “chaos” enter the CIA and U.S. military with a prime opportunity to engage in drone and air attacks against al-Qaeda operatives without regard for collateral damage. Basically unlimited ability to wage air war under the guise of supporting the regime. We are bringing hell from the sky. WASHINGTON — The Obama administration has intensified the American covert war in Yemen, exploiting a growing power vacuum in the country to strike at militant suspects with armed drones and fighter jets, according to American officials. WASHINGTON (AP) — The White House brushed off congressional demands for a detailed report outlining U.S. objectives in Libya, a move likely to stoke further anger on Capitol Hill over President Barack Obama’s decision not to seek lawmakers’ consent for the military operation. White House spokesman Jay Carney said Monday that administration officials were already answering questions about Libya in briefings on Capitol Hill. A House resolution calling on Obama to provide more detailed answers was “unhelpful,” Carney added, suggesting that the administration has no plans to formally respond within the 14-day window outlined in the measure. Yet we support these rogues and NATO is fighting on their behalf ? (ANSAmed) – ROME, JUNE 6 – For the first time, the Algerian Army fought Libyan rebels who – taking advantage of a football match between Algerian and Morocco on Saturday – infiltrated into Algerian territory in order to try to take control of the Libya-Algeria border checkpoint in the area of Debdab in the extreme southeast of the country. Clashes between the Algerian Army and Libyan rebels lasted until yesterday morning, according to Algerian daily Al Nahar Al Jadeed. The Libyan rebels, underlined the daily, tried to surprise the pro-Gaddafi forces that control the border checkpoint on the Libyan side by launching an attack from Algerian territory. The attempt by the Libyan rebels, explained the daily, failed thanks to the fast reaction of the Algerian Army, which forced the Libyan rebels to retreat after violent clashes. (ANSAmed).
(report via BigPeace) It turns out that the injuries inflicted on Yemen’s president Ali Abdullah Saleh were far more serious than anyone was admitting on Friday. There were injuries to his head and face, and shrapnel has punctured his lungs, near his heart. We reported that he gave a radio address on Friday, but there are suspicions that someone else gave it for him. He has been moved to Saudi Arabia for medical treatment, according to Al-Jazeera. It’s about flippin time congress did something about this…..
(ABC News) – In the immortal words of the vice president, this could be a big effen deal: House Speaker John Boehner, R-Ohio, is throwing what one Republican calls “a legal and political hot potato at the President.” In a resolution to be voted on in the House tomorrow, Boehner is giving the president two weeks – until the Pentagon Appropriations bill comes up – to either:
(Al-Masry) — The Muslim Brotherhood would apply Islamic sharia if it came to power, said leading Brotherhood figure Sobhi Saleh, adding that sharia protects non-Muslim citizens. “Terms like civil or secular state are misleading,” he said. “Islamic sharia is the best system for Muslims and non-Muslims.”
Saleh apologized for his earlier statements that the Muslim Brotherhood could not recognize liberals or communists as Muslims, and that he disapproved of Muslims marrying outside the group. (more…)
From the beginning of the U.S. military intervention in Libya, the Obama administration has cited the 1973 War Powers Act as the legal basis of its ability to conduct military activities for 60 days without first seeking a declaration of war from Congress. The military intervention started on March 19; Congress was notified on March 21. Those 60 days expire today. (ABC News) — In an effort to satisfy those arguing he needs to seek congressional authorization to continue US military activity in accordance with the War Powers Resolution, President Obama wrote a letter to congressional leaders this afternoon suggesting that the role is now so “limited” he does not need to seek congressional approval. Just try to wrap your mind around the concept of the media, or progressive left, looking the other way and allowing this action if a Bush type republican was in office….. C’mon progressive trolls were are ya on this one.? ((Crickets)) This is a point of distinction which specifically reflects the rabid liberalist communal group think to your ideology. This is why you are correctly marginalized as opportunists without established principles. Where is the outrage for a president defying law and congress?.... (ABC News) — The legal license President Obama used to justify U.S. military intervention in Libya expires today, and there’s little sign the White House is working quickly to get it renewed.
