Not exactly the Egyptian “Change” the Liberal Media “Sold”, eh? ………  (ViaIPT)  The Egyptian government reportedly has asked the United States to release the Blind Sheikh, Omar Abdel-Rahman, and send him back to Egypt, according to the Open Source Center, a government clearinghouse of publicly available foreign intelligence.  Abdel-Rahman is the former spiritual leader of the Egyptian terrorist organization, Gama’a al-Islamiyya. He is considered the spiritual inspiration behind the 1993 World Trade Center bombing and is serving a life sentence in connection with a subsequent plot to bomb New York landmarks and tunnels. (The Boston Globe) — EVIDENCE IS now in that President Barack Obama grossly exaggerated the humanitarian threat to justify military action in Libya. The president claimed that intervention was necessary to prevent a “bloodbath’’ in Benghazi, Libya’s second-largest city and last rebel stronghold. But Human Rights Watch has released data on Misurata, the next-biggest city in Libya and scene of protracted fighting, revealing that Moammar Khadafy is not deliberately massacring civilians but rather narrowly targeting the armed rebels who fight against his government. As expected Egypt begins to engage in Radical Islamic Approaches.    (IPT) – The leader of the Muslim Brotherhood, Egypt’s largest opposition group, announced Wednesday that his group has the ability to win 75% of parliamentary seats in the country’s planned September elections. This statement comes in spite of earlier assertions by Supreme Guide Mohamed Badie that the Brotherhood has more modest political aspirations. (more…)

Netanyahu’s response: You ain’t seen nothing yet…… JERUSALEM – A senior member of Gaza’s ruling Hamas movement on Sunday made a rare appeal to the Israeli public for a halt to the escalating cross-border fighting, telling an Israeli radio station in fluent Hebrew that Hamas is ready to stop its rocket fire if Israel ends its attacks on Gaza. As nightfall approached, Gaza militants had fired about 10 rockets and mortar shells at Israel, police said, but Israel had not hit back. (more…)

The outcome in Libya remains uncertain, but what seems clear beyond reasonable doubt is that military intervention has not saved the day for the shadowy opposition known as ‘the rebels’, and certainly not for the people of the country.   It has seemingly plunged Libya into a protracted violent conflict with the domestic balance of forces tipping decisively in favor of the Quackdaffy regime despite a major military onslaught managed by the American-led coalition, which in recent days has been supposedly outsourced to NATO. (CBS/AP) – The United States may consider sending troops into Libya with a possible international ground force that could aid the rebels, according to the general who led the military mission until NATO took over.  Army Gen. Carter Ham also told lawmakers Thursday that added American participation would not be ideal, and ground troops could erode the international coalition and make it more difficult to get Arab support for operations in Libya.  (more…)
