Anger is a reaction to fear; physical flight is a reaction to panic.  The Huffington Post is fleeing Donald Trump.

It is well known the Huffington Post is one of those insufferably progressive reality avoidance outlets.  However, their latest avoidance maneuver exemplifies the severity therein:

Instead, we will cover his campaign as part of our Entertainment section. Our reason is simple: Trump’s campaign is a sideshow. We won’t take the bait. …[McCain] noted that he was personally censured by Arizona Republicans in January of 2014 and has been fighting to push out the extremists in the state G.O.P. ever since. “We did to some degree regain control of the Party.”  But McCain fears that Trump may be reversing those gains.

Senator John McCain, speaking about candidate Donald Trump’s visit to Phoenix last weekend, claims Trump has “Fired up the Crazies” in Arizona. Senator McCain is furious that Donald Trump is undermining the U.S. Chamber of Commerce lobbying efforts to achieve comprehensive immigration reform.

McCain promises to unleash the full fury of the establishment Republican machine against Donald Trump to insure his defeat. Trump will never be accepted by McCain’s coalition of Republicans in the Senate….

He shared the stage with the father of a man who was killed by an undocumented immigrant—and Trump continued his rant against illegal immigration that began when he launched his campaign and started to surge in the polls. Washington, D.C., July 16, 2015 – One America News Network, “OAN”, a credible source for 24/7 national and international news, released today its most recent 2016 Republican and Democratic Presidential Polling Results for Nevada conducted by Gravis Marketing.

The results show that GOP Presidential candidate Donald Trump has a commanding lead of 27.7%, with recently announced Presidential Candidate Scott Walker in second with 15%. In third is Ben Carson with 7.8% with Jeb Bush a point behind at 6.8%. Marco Rubio rounds out the top five with 5.4%. Undecided voters remain high at just over 20%. (more…)

Presidential candidate Donald Trump has stated he’s completed the required financial filings to run for office.  Previously, during an extensive interview with the Chicago Tribune group, Trump announced his divestiture of Wall Street stock holdings, and elimination of other potential business conflicts as required.

Trump’s net worth has increased from the year-old $8.7 billion figure used by his campaign during his White House campaign launch last month to more than $10 billion, according to his campaign.

The celebrity real estate developer claimed $362 million in income during 2014, according to numbers provided by his campaign, not including dividends, interest, capital gains, rents and royalties. (more…)

Also, Donald Trump is second in the latest New Hampshire poll.  This is critically important.  The roadmap to defeat the GOP five-state plan in Florida would be entirely possible if Trump can defeat Jeb Bush in New Hampshire prior to heading into South Carolina.

Trump beating Bush in New Hampshire would be analogous to Dave Bratt beating Eric Cantor, and would put the GOP machine operators solidly on their heels.

There has been a considerable response to the recent article: “Why I Support Donald Trump’s Campaign“, which has led to a larger conversation about the current cause of the problem for our body politic.  That expanded conversation deserves further explanation.

However, before going into the details I must thank the fine people at Lucianne for being brave enough to share the original article.

I say “brave enough”, because in today’s modern era when totalitarian government is unbelievably the norm – it takes courage to look at the brutally honest truth. Beyond that it takes bravery to share the truth knowing there are going to be vitriolic opinions against the messenger by those with a vested interest in the status quo.

It is uncomfortable to accept that a substantive part of the oppositional message about the “Citizens United” SCOTUS decision was factually accurate.

Citizens United did not only open the doors for unlimited use of money to be spent in advancement of political messaging and candidate advocacy – it opened the door for unlimited money to be spent protecting the establishment political class.

Most conservatives, including myself, did not initially see that consequence coming over the horizon. (more…)

Begin with the end in mind – I’m not trying to convince anyone that Donald Trump is  running a campaign to actually win the GOP nomination.

Factually, I’m as uncertain and perhaps more skeptical as the next person. However, given that Trump has actually done things he normally wouldn’t do if this was a mere publicity stunt (ie. stock divestitures, removal of conflicts etc.), for the sake of intellectual argument, I’m going to assume, cautiously yet optimistically, he’s in it to win it.

So why support him?

Argument #1 – After all, he’s been a democrat, an independent, a Republican, and well, I have consistently despised Charlie Crist.

Counter Argument – Then again, what about Mitch McConnell and John Boehner, and Orin Hatch, and Lindsey Graham, and John McCain, and John Cornyn, and Thad Cochran and, well, you get the point…. What’s the difference between supporting those consistently Republican “Republicans” only to have them advocate for liberal/progressive policies.

Are the aforementioned better because they didn’t change party registration, yet act like Democrats?

Let me first explain something few fully comprehend – and fewer still, are willing accept.

People like us rail against the “establishment” because, despite the GOP claims to the contrary, they never actually do anything to stop the liberal policy agenda. One only has to look at President Obama’s veto record (four in 6.5 years) to accept that only legislation Obama agrees with is reaching his desk. (more…)
