Retired Lt. General Michael Flynn is a member of Donald Trump‘s ever-shortening VP shortlist.
The immigration portion of his veep audition on ABC News’ This Week with George Stephanopoulos probably helped him.
However, ABC knows the most effective way to divide, diminish and conquer the GOP electorate is to focus policy on social issues. George Stephanopoulos famously displayed that goal during a weird 2012 GOP primary debate when he asked Mitt Romney if birth control was constitutional.
Fill-in host Martha Raddatz plays the transparent game and asks Flynn to weigh in on several social issues. As expected the former DIA head veered sharply from traditional Republican orthodoxy.

Candidate Donald Trump went to Washington DC today to meet with House and Senate republicans. The meeting with GOP politicians from the House of Representatives is generally being characterized as very positive:

[…] members who have been critical of Trump, like New York Rep. Peter King, had positive reviews of the meeting.
“I would honestly say there was not one negative moment, there was no awkward moment, it was all positive, it was very united,” King told reporters. “And we’ll see where it goes. But today, if today is the way it’s gonna be, it’s gonna be an extremely effective campaign.” (link)
However the meeting with the Senate chamber was predictably a mixed bag of never Trumpers, U.S. CoC crony consiglieres’ and decepticons. (more…)
It’s a little odd to see a “not guilty” plea, considering Michael Sandford previously admitted to the plot to assassinate presidential candidate Donald Trump.

LAS VEGAS (AP) – A British citizen pleaded not guilty Wednesday to U.S. federal charges alleging he tried to grab a police officer’s gun to shoot presumptive Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump at a Las Vegas campaign rally.
A judge set an Aug. 22 trial date for Michael Steven Sandford, 20, on charges of disrupting an official function and two firearm possession counts.
Sandford stood wearing a yellow jail jump suit with his federal public defense attorneys during his brief arraignment. (more…)
Another “self removal“.
This is almost too much winning for one day. Almost…

Senator Marco Rubio has decided to skip the GOP convention in Cleveland this month after originally saying he would attend, citing the rigors of his newly launched Senate campaign. (read more)
Folks, this statistic is so YUGE it holds ramifications even beyond the BIGLY Monster Vote. As June campaign finance reports are being summarized this incredible statistic is jaw dropping.
In the month of June, Donald Trump received 400,000 direct individual contributions under $200 from ordinary patriots. With an average contribution of $55 bucks.

400,000 individual contributions in a month is jaw dropping!
Gretchen Carlson has been very pro-Trump on Fox. Ailes and Murdoch are financially dependent on Trump’s defeat. There’s a story behind the story here. Perhaps there’s a connection.

Well done Gretchen, well done.

A favorite term: “remove yourself“. There’s massive power, leverage, seriousness, resolve and purity of control in that statement. Top level executives use that term frequently to force lower level execs into positional extrication for a myriad of reasons.
Self removal allows lower leadership to “save face”. Modern liberals cannot grasp the power in this approach because they’re optically selfish and fanatic about the appearance of their own control. Blame-casting progressive leadership is constitutionally incapable of understanding how executive empathy exudes strength.

A truly powerful person will remind their team: “If you have to tell people you’re the boss, you’re not“.
