Wisconsin Discussion Thread

I’m going to stick this to the top of the page until we begin to track election recall results later this evening. Polls in Wisconsin close at 9:00pm Eastern time.

The biggest potential issue is Wisconsin voting law which allows for Same Day Voter Registration and Voting; which, as you know, has historically been a method to manipulate votes.

Here is a link to Wisconsin State Journal coverage, and also the Wisconsin Reporter Twitter Feed….  If the recall fails this is the message you can expect from Democrats (more…)

2-J's Tries To Keep Hope A Lie In Wisconsin….

The Weekly Standard has a great rundown on the latest Wisconsin Democrats rally efforts with national Democrat figureheads flying in from around the country.   You know things are not looking good when Jesse Jackson is the most reasonable, and civil in tone, at a rally.   Despite 2-J’s comparing Governor Walker to former Gov. George Wallace, who was a Democrat mind you, his rhetoric was by far the least hate filled.
Carrying around so much hate while maintaining such an anger filled visible disposition must be very draining.    The rabid hatred of Governor Walker is beyond normal political disagreement.  The rally speakers even went so far as to include comparisons to the 911 World Trade Center terror attacks and Walker allies to be jihadists.
TWS – Shortly after 5:30 p.m.   Sunday, a flashy two-car motorcade pulled up in front of the Destiny Youth Plaza on the northwest side of Milwaukee.   A crowd gathered around the first car to greet the Reverend Jesse Jackson, visiting Milwaukee to speak on behalf of Wisconsin workers and to rally voters to unseat Governor Scott Walker in the recall election here Tuesday.   If anyone was bothered by the fact that Jackson arrived to speak on behalf of the working class in a Mercedes Benz S550 (starting price of some $100,000) and that his escort vehicle was a Cadillac Escalade ESV (starting at about $75,000), nobody showed it.
Jackson was ushered in the front door and quickly escorted to a back hallway, where he mingled with VIPs as a cameraman from WISN television, the local ABC affiliate, captured the warm greetings he had for union leaders and prominent Democrats. (more…)

Maintaining The Guise – Media Ignores Week Two of NYT #1 Bestseller

Edward Klein a former liberal New York Times editor writes a devastating biography of President Barack Obama, “The Amateur”.   The book debuts at #1 in the New York Times bestseller list and begins week two solidly in first place.
However, The New York Times itself tries to destroy the author and  the book, calling it an “invective-laden” anti-Obama book, and tells readers to ignore the book since it offers no real sources.
The main stream media ignores the book completely, yet the book not only earns the #1 spot on the New York Times best-seller list, it stays there. (more…)

Wisconsin – Democrats and The Media Framing Lowered Expectations

Facing recent polling that indicates Governor Scott Walker is in relatively good shape in the Wisconsin Recall Campaign, the progs are reframing the narrative.

The blame game has been going on for about a week with Wisconsin recall folks complaining about a lack of support from the Democrat National Committee, President Obama, and national democrats.   In addition, state officials from labor unions like the AFL-CIO and AFSCME are complaining about weak national support for their efforts.
This week the media began to frame the narrative to position and protect Democrats in the 2012 campaign. Initially the Wisconsin Recall Effort was heralded by the media as an example and predictor for Progressive gains in retaliation against fiscal conservative efforts by Republican Governors and Legislatures. In addition, they sold the Wisconsin race as a bellweather for President Obama’s victory in November. (more…)

Bubba Goes To Wisconsin – But Few Show Up For Rockstar Clinton – Porn Stars excluded…

WISCONSIN – Just four days out from the Wisconsin’s historic gubernatorial recall election, former president Bill Clinton and Milwaukee mayor Tom Barrett could only draw a small crowd to a rally Friday on Barrett’s home turf.
As the Associated Press notes, the crowd numbered only in the “hundreds,” a sign of the enthusiasm gap between Democrats and Republicans that has appeared in some polls. Overcast weather and the short notice of the event (it was announced just yesterday) may have depressed turnout. But a sitting mayor of a Democratic city and a popular former Democratic president still should have been able to draw more than hundreds of people on Friday if Barrett supporters were fired up and ready to go. Congressman Paul Ryan has been known to draw hundreds of people to some of his townhall meetings in the Milwaukee exurbs. (more…)

Our Prez: Using the Honored Dead as Re-Election Props

[Hattip Sharon] There’s not much more I can say about Prez SCOAMF’s actions, here. Well, actually, there’s a lot I can say, but it would inevitably end with me frothing at the mouth and chewing the furniture, and fixing that sort of damage is out of my budget right now. . .
From Riehl World View: . . .

The claim is that a decision by the Obama administration put a political speech meant to bolster his chances at re-election, above the desires, traditions and practices of many Vietnam-era military members and their families, who have been coming together at The Wall on Memorial Day for decades, now. No notice was given regarding the closing due to Obama’s decision to use The Wall as backdrop in his Memorial Day speech.
Sources insist it remained closed for hours, until most simply grew frustrated and went away. For decades, individuals have been coming together there on Memorial Day to perform simple acts and observances in keeping with America’s established Memorial Day tradition.

As the man says, read it all. It’ll make you cry and want to engage in some manner of destructive activity. Also see Thoughts From a Conservative Mom’s Blog.

Stormclouds and War Drums

Prepare yourself.  The fight against the Left-Wing Orcs is gonna get ugly.  Real Ugly.  The first battle is Wisconsin.

(WSJ) — Public-employee unions in Wisconsin have experienced a dramatic drop in membership — by more than half for the second-biggest union — since a law championed by Republican Gov. Scott Walker sharply curtailed their ability to bargain over wages and working conditions.
Now with Mr. Walker facing a recall vote Tuesday, voters will decide whether his policies in the centrist state should continue — or whether they have gone too far.  The election could mark a pivot point for organized labor.  (more)

JACKSON, MISSISSIPPI, May 31, 2012 — Five months ahead of the presidential election, the Democratic Party is already losing seats to Republicans, as a growing number of elected officials are changing parties over issues like the right to life, the definition of marriage, and the Obama administration’s mandate that religious institutions cover abortion-inducing drugs in their health care plans.
Wednesday afternoon, seven local office-holders from three Mississippi counties announced they had voted with their feet.
Each official had different reasons, but Leake County Sheriff Greg Waggoner “specifically said when [Obama] came out in favor of gay ‘marriage,’ that was the last straw,” Brett Kittredge, communications director of the Mississippi Republican Party, told LifeSiteNews.com.
“I’m a Christian, and my first allegiance is to Jesus Christ,” Sheriff Waggoner said. “God established marriage, and He established it between a man and a woman. Those are my beliefs. The Republican Party reflects my beliefs.” (more…)

Works Both Ways – Axelrod Gets Taste Of His Own Strategy….

(BuzzFeed) — Supporters of Mitt Romney and Barack Obama clashed on the steps of the Massachusetts State House in Boston Thursday, in advance of a press conference by Obama senior adviser David Axelrod.
Romney aides, interns, and volunteers flooded out of the campaign’s headquarters here with signs — and bubbles — to protest Axelrod and Obama, while Obama supporters chanted “Hey hey, ho ho, Mitt Romney has got to go.”
Romney supporters responded by chanting “Solllyyynndraaa” like Bruins fans heckling the visiting team.

After he finished his remarks, Axelrod opened the floor to questions, but he couldn’t hear reporters over the protests. (more…)

MSNBC Host "Chris Hayes" Issues Apology for Saying He's 'Uncomfortable' with Calling Fallen Soldiers 'Heroes'

MSNBC is a faux news propaganda entity selling the far-left talking points from Media Matters et al, 24/7.   Period.   Their entire lineup of pundits, newsies, talking heads and show hosts are specifically and intentionally similar in one key aspect, supporting the far-left in general, and President Obama specifically.
This intellectually honest definition of MSNBC is no longer challenged by any observer of the media or their agenda.   The insufferable lack of objectivity is also why MSNBC lags significantly behind the other news providers;  MSNBC is simply a propaganda machine.
But they carry their echo-chambering message a bit to far at times ergo recently evidenced by host Chris Hayes saying he’s uncomfortable calling fallen soldiers heroes.   He is, for all intents and purposes, a typical far-left prog.   In typical prog elitist fashion his ‘Airs and Graces’ are far superior than all others except those few within his closed circle of like-minded prog elites.
The visible arrogance and pontificating attitude of superiority within such mindsets are the key qualifiers to determine how ideologically entrenched the pundit is on the propaganda channel.   Rachael Maddow, Lawrence O’Donnell, Melissa Harris Perry, Martin Bashir and Chris Hayes are all cut from the exact same cloth.
