100 Super Secret Multi-Millionaire Guests each paid $40,000

New York – President Obama collected $4 million at a fundraiser hosted by Jay-Z and Beyoncé at their lounge bar, Manhattan’s 40/40 Club.  About 100 donors who paid $40,000 each to attend the event sat on sofas in a large, glass room, according to the pool report.

Jay-Z and Beyoncé gave only brief remarks, letting Mr. Obama bask in limelight.  (More)

When President Obama addresses an elite roster of hipsters and multimillionaires, including hosts Beyoncé and Jay-Z, in New York tonight, he will do so next to a custom-designed tower of $800-per-bottle champagne that dominates the main room at Jay-Z’s 40/40 nightclub.

The 350-bottle champagne tower — designed by Jeffrey Beers — is a monument to Jay-Z’s favorite bubbly, Armand de Brignac, which is known colloquially by rappers, clubgoers and connoisseurs as Ace of Spades because of its gold-spade label.

“It’s floor-to-ceiling gold bottles in the entire space. It’s beautiful — breathtaking,” a rep for the Flatiron District hot spot told The Post. “It’s the first thing you see when you walk in.” (more…)

(Virginia Pilot)  Last July, a top Pentagon official gave two Hollywood filmmakers the name of a Navy SEAL involved in training the squad of commandos who carried out the raid that killed Osama bin Laden. Now, the Obama administration is fighting to keep that same name from the public.

In legal papers filed Friday in U.S. District Court in Washington, the Justice Department argued that the government is under no obligation to make public the SEAL’s name or the names of Central Intelligence Agency personnel involved simply because officials shared their names, partial names or identities with the makers of a forthcoming movie about the raid, “Zero Dark Thirty.” (more…)

(Via The Hill)  The grandson of former president Jimmy Carter told NBC News that he was motivated by Republican attacks on his grandfather’s foreign policy record to help leak a secretly recorded video that has become Mitt Romney’s latest headache.

James Carter IV, who is 35 and unemployed, said he helped persuade the person who filmed the May 17 fundraiser in Boca Raton, Fla., to leak the video to the press. Carter described himself as a “partisan Democrat” devoted to getting president Obama reelected, but he also told NBC that he had a personal stake in going after Romney.  (more)

An intelligence source on the ground in Libya told Fox News that there was no demonstration outside the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi prior to last week’s attack — challenging the Obama administration’s claims that the assault grew out of a “spontaneous” protest against an anti-Islam film.

“There was no protest and the attacks were not spontaneous,” the source said, adding the attack “was planned and had nothing to do with the movie.”

The source said the assault came with no warning at about 9:35 p.m. local time, and included fire from more than two locations. The assault included RPG’s and mortar fire, the source said, and consisted of two waves. (more…)

CNN Reporting –  3 Days Warning:  Three days before the deadly assault on the United States consulate in Libya, a local security official says he met with American diplomats in the city and warned them about deteriorating security.

Jamal Mabrouk, a member of the February 17th Brigade, told CNN that he and a battalion commander had a meeting about the economy and security.  He said they told the diplomats that the security situation wasn’t good for international business.

“The situation is frightening, it scares us,” Mabrouk said they told the U.S. officials. He did not say how they responded.  (more)

Think back to the beginning of the Arab Spring – Think back to Hillary Clinton saying one thing, and President Obama stating the complete opposite (Egypt/Mubarak). Think back to 11 days of AWOL Obama in Libya when Gaddafi was pushing back against his countries uprising and Obama was silent. Think back to Hillary Clinton saying the state department does not know “who the rebels actually are” in Benghazi.

Think back to UN Ambassador Susan Rice travelling to South Africa for a global warming weekend class/discussion while the United Nations Security Council met to discuss Libya during the crisis. Yeah, that’s right we had no-one there representing us, or our opinion, AT THE UN SECURITY COUNCIL MEETING to discuss how to deal with Gaddafi and Libya.   Instead, at the president’s specific instructions, Ambassador Rice was discussing “Cow Farts”, true, no joke. “I’m going to frustrate all of you, infinitely, by telling you that now that we have an open FBI investigation on the death of these four Americans, we are not going to be in a position to talk at all about what the U.S. government may or may not be learning about how any of this this happened — not who they were, not how it happened, not what happened to Ambassador Stevens, not any of it — until the Justice Department is ready to talk about the investigation that’s its got,” State Department spokeswoman Victorian Nuland told reporters late Friday afternoon.
