HatTip Ctdar (via Politico)  The Journal News of West Nyack, N.Y., has hired armed security guards to defend its offices after receiving a torrent of phone calls and emails responding to the paper’s publication of the names and addresses of area residents with pistol permits.

RGA Investigations, a private security company, “is doing private security at on location at the Journal News as a result of the negative response to the article,” according to a police report first obtained by the Rockland County Times (Nanuet, N.Y.) and shared with POLITICO. So fast forward to the faux-Fiscal Cliff Crisis of 2012, and once again Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid keeps the Senators sequestered while he manipulates another legislative construct fraught with flaws, schemes, and manipulations in the dead of night….

The Crisis Bill contains $41 dollars in more spending for every $1 in new taxes, and he, along with President Obama are proud of that…..

Obama just had what was possibly the most insulting press event I’ve ever seen from a President — I’ll post the video when available, it will infuriate you.  But force yourself to watch it.

He spiked the football, overtly insulted Republicans and Congress, and laughed that he is on the verge of getting what he wants. Either he wants to nix any deal, or he’s actually just enjoying his victory but is emotionally incapable of being presidential about it. Everything you ever wanted to know about our dysfunctional government was on display.

It is disheartening to continually read, listen to and watch conservatives failing to recognize what is happening right in front of their face. President Obama is rapidly taking us to a place of no return. Some might actually argue we are already there. I would be hard pressed to disagree with them. Consider these facts: (more…)

(via The Blaze)  Russell Kellner of Flower Mound, Texas, ordered three Troy Defense Carbine Semi-Automatic Rifles from Dick’s Sporting Goods on Black Friday, CBS 11 News reports.

At $799 apiece, a savings of $300 dollars, it “was a heck of a deal,” he said.  However, Kellner and his wife received only two of the three guns. They received a letter from Dick’s on Christmas Eve stating that the company would not fulfill the remainder of their order. (more…)

CHICAGO – Gave Bates smiled through tears as she swiped her hand across her phone, flipping through pictures of her cousin playing around and striking goofy poses.

“He was a lot of fun, very good at imitating people,” Bates said of Nathaniel T. Jackson, 40. “He just had so much fun all the time. And we all grew up together in the same house.”

Jackson was standing outside a store in the Austin neighborhood around 9 p.m. Thursday when someone walked up and shot him in the head, police said.   His death was apparently the 500th homicide in Chicago this year, marking a grim milestone. The city last reached that toll in 2008.
