WASHINGTON DC – Attorney General Eric Holder made remarks a short time ago on the tragic school shootings in Newtown, Connecticut, where a 20-year-old gunman killed 20 children and six adults. Holder appeared to suggest the country’s gun laws may need to be looked at more closely in the wake of the latest mass shooting.

“As a nation I think we have to ask ourselves some hard questions. We gather too often to talk about these kinds of incidents. We need to discuss who we are as a nation, talk about the freedoms that we have, the rights that we have and how those might be used in a responsible way.

But for now I think we should concentrate on dealing with the situation in Connecticut and we are doing, as I said, the best that we can at the Justice Department and throughout federal law enforcement,” Holder said.  (read more)

The typical prog tolerance exposed.  Belafonte willing to lock up anyone who does not agree with him, his philosophy or ideology.   This is the real underbelly of the progressive left- they will demand tolerance for their opinion when in the minority, but as soon as they take power, in any form, immediately they move to control everyone.

Yesterday from the border region of Afghanistan/Pakistan al-Qaeda’s #1 Ayman Al Zawahiri sent a video message to the salafists in Egypt to rise up off their prayer mats and support the sharia constitution by Muslim Brotherhood leader President Morsi.  “You must meet the request of the Egyptian people for Sharia rule in order to attain dignity and pride,” Zawahiri said in his video

That’s the same Egypt we just approved to get twenty brand spanking new F-16 fighter jets.

Also yesterday in West Africa, specifically in Mali, the freedom reform Prime Minister was forced to resign after al-Qaeda forces took control of the military and performed a coup de ta. al-Qaeda now controls the country.  Soldiers carried out a late-night arrest of Mali’s prime minister at his home here, forcing his resignation early Tuesday and casting new doubt on plans to chase out radical Islamists who control much of this troubled West African nation. (HuffPoo)  “Barack Obama is a socialist,” former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin (R), claimed on Fox News Monday night, speaking about her concerns regarding the a fiscal cliff deal, growing American debt and a president who, she said, could even be leading the nation on a slow march toward communism.

Talking with Sean Hannity, Palin said that the opening offer Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner presented to Republicans last week to avert the fiscal cliff was a dangerous proposition.

“A very scary proposal was recently revealed by Geithner essentially saying, ‘Let the president have free rein on raising the debt ceiling to whatever level he wants it.’ That’s a very scary thought,” she said, pointing to Obama’s supposedly “socialist” views. (more…)

Watch – Most Media portrayed Egypt’s President Morsi as overreaching his power last week and demanded he enact a constitution that protects the legislative rights of the minority….. Meanwhile this week the same media will exhault Harry Reid for his magnanimous strategy to subvert constitutional limitations as “progress”…. Just watch.

The day after the election we outlined the expectations from the next Congress, specifically what Harry Reid WOULD do.  The elimination of vote approval threshold (formerly 3/5ths or 60 votes) to a simple majority in the Senate (half plus one or 51 votes) is one aspect.   The other aspect is the elimination of minority standing completely with removal of filibuster process.

Well here we go…  and it is a shock, by golly – a shock, to Republicans.

The media will cover and protect Reid/Pelosi/Obama because they support this unconstitutional manuever.   The legacy media has spent untold hours and pages labeling the conservatives as Extremists, and Obstructionists in preparation for the progressive excuse “they had to do it, they had to change the rules” to protect the country and move FORWARD.

(AP) — Egypt’s President Mohammed Morsi issued decrees giving himself broad powers and effectively neutering the judiciary. Morsi, an Islamist hailing from the Muslim Brotherhood, defends the step as necessary to clear obstacles holding up Egypt’s transition, particularly from judges who could have disbanded a controversial assembly writing the constitution or overturned his decisions. Critics say Morsi, who already holds both executive and legislative powers, is setting himself up as a new dictator.

Here is a look at the main points of his decrees:

– All laws and decisions by the president are final, cannot be appealed, overturned or halted by the courts or other bodies. This applies to decisions he has made since taking office in June and any he makes until a new constitution is approved and a new parliament is elected, expected in the spring at the earliest. The liberal group has sent emails to its list nationwide, urging a mass-protest outside Wal-Mart stores on Black Friday.
