It all seemed so large, all of it. The seats, the table, the room, even the personalities. The concept seemed quite simple. Pick something up and drop it, it falls. It can’t fall without some form of energy propelling it to the ground. So, reading about the historical definition of that energy, Gravity, just made the discussion easier.
But it wasn’t. Because it’s not understood. Nothing about it is understood. Nothing.
truth1
Nuclear sciences, both large and small, have drilled down the explanations through physics. Quantum discussing the large, and Nano discussing the small. But that’s wonky.
Engineers of modern significance discovered another, Electromagnetic, a long time ago. They used their discovery, and their engineering intellect, to harness capacity and drive all semblances’ of modern society. Without them, you couldn’t read this. Neat, huh?
But the apple still falls from the tree without the Quantimists, and without the Nanoists, and well without the Engineers. It still falls. Just ask Newton, who pondered; Einstein who measured; Or Galileo who projected; and *Hawking who fails miserably in connecting (*disclaimer: I do not like the crippled jackass, never will).
More than a few have thought – to no avail. Even still today.
So why, some several hundred years later, as the wonks had found explanations for Electromagnetic, Fission and Fusion, were they still so interested in the fourth factor, the unknown factor, Gravity?
They, the Hawkingists (nuclear wonks) joined with the engineers (electromagnetic wonks), and set about building particle accelerators to combine their three known, and explain the fourth unknown. We laugh in their face at each failing – but society sends them trillions of coins to keep at it. What-friggin-ever!
It is not for you, or us, to understand it. Faith is at the center of it, the circle closes it, and it grows always.
Expanding.
As was told by Arthur C Clark, and explained for non-readers by Stanley Kubrick: “All these worlds are yours, except Europa, attempt no landings there”.
Duh.
But they just had to find a way to reconcile going there. Still do. (Note to Hawkins, you are still a jackass)
So the room was big, the audience small, the chair way too big, the conversation way too small. But the offer was not to be allowed refusal… “What-figgin-ever”, says the small voice, once it has found it’s maturity in belittlement, while setting aside the guilt evoking manners of refinement.
No-one owns thought. Nor, in the purest sense, should anyone own the consequence of that thought, if expressed; Especially if it is dragged from the thinker by demand.
Forest Whitaker
Forest Whitaker is perhaps, and well is – in my opinion, the greatest living actor.
His study of psychology, transferred to his art, with no formal education to afford him traditional accolades -though he is owed infinite recognition thereof- is unmatched in the modern version of screened delivery.
As Amos, without script, told to Fast Eddie Felson: “Hey Eddie,.. you think I need to lose a little weight“? The only line of value in an otherwise middle of the road movie, The Color of Money.
gz2George Zimmerman needs Amos right now.
Amos understands the dynamic around him, George Zimmerman does not.
George is a product.
Who’s up next for their pound of flesh?
What Hawkins is to Gravity, Mark O’Mara is to Thomas Jefferson type Legal processes.
George Needs Amos.

Few will understand – And that’s a damn fine thing.

Warmest regards,
