It’s been several weeks since we focused on foreign events, and no singular event is more reflective of the total failure of this administration regarding foreign policy, than current day Syria.
Despite the media selling “Foreign Policy” as President Obama’s strength, it is actually his second greatest failure -ALL.OF.IT- second only to economic ineptitude.    In Syria Obama has painted the West into a corner.   The “rebels” fighting against the Assad regime are now primarily al-Qaeda elements under the auspices  of The Al-Nusra Front.   Yet you see the idiots in DC, well, some of them anyway  (like McCain and Lieberman and Ketchup Boy) openly requesting that we arm the rebels.

What are the options left by the action, and inaction, once again of this leading from behind strategy.   a)  support the rebels in defeating Assad, and create a new terroristic and radical Syria in the model of Yemen.   Or,  b)  support Assad in defeating the rebellion, spinning 180 degrees from prior WEST position, and consequently aiding Syria’s #1 ally Iran.
But the media will tell you that President Obama’s foreign policy is brilliant.  Yeah, right, tell that to the Egyptians and Libyans about to come under hardline Sharia Law, and Israel about to be attacked by all the coordinating elements.
(Telegraph) — A little-known jihadist group has claimed responsibility for a double suicide bombing in the Syrian capital Damascus which killed 55 people and wounded nearly 400.
Many of the casualties were burnt alive in their cars as they waited in rush hour traffic on Friday near offices of a government intelligence organisation, the intended target.

In the video, a group calling itself the Al-Nusra Front says the bombing was in response to attacks on residential areas by the regime of President Bashar Assad.
“We fulfilled our promise to respond with strikes and explosions,” a distorted voice said, reading black text that rolled across a white screen while Islamic chanting was heard in the background.
The attack was frighteningly similar to al-Qaeda bombings in next-door Iraq, which have killed thousands of people since the US and British invasion in 2003.

The Al-Nusra Front has claimed past attacks through statements posted on militant websites. Western intelligence officials have suggested it could be a front for an al-Qaeda branch operating in Iraq.  (read more)
