Seriously, trying to keep tabs on all the progressive manuevers is like being in charge of a hundred ADHD 2nd Grade poster kids at an ice cream party.  Solo.   As a kid I loved my book about Jason and the Argonauts, the warrior who takes on incredibly horrid creatures from the underworld in his quest to save humanity.  I guess that’s why it seems we went from a generally nice neighborhood barbershop conversation of polite politics, and recent events, into an all out battle for survival when Medusa just sat in my chair.  Yikes, I mean where to start?   Consider this nasty little viper nest all by itself…. 
RINO Sen. Lindsey Graham Teams up With Demonrat Chuck Schumer to Make Another Push for Amnesty… (Politico)- Sens. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) and Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) have rekindled their alliance on immigration reform, taking some early steps to test the political will for addressing the contentious issue this year.
Their call list hasn’t focused so much on House and Senate members who’ve been reliable pro-immigration votes in the past. Instead, they’re looking to a strange-bedfellows mix of conservative and liberal constituencies that can provide a “safety net” of support, as Graham put it, once the issue heats up.
For all the groups getting a call from the pair, it is the presence of Graham himself who elevates the odds — however bleak — that the Senate could move on a comprehensive, bipartisan overhaul bill. Graham abruptly departed the talks last spring and took with him any hope of getting a bill in the past Congress.
Now, conservative evangelicals, the AFL-CIO, the Service Employees International Union, business organizations and immigrant advocacy groups say they have gotten word from Schumer’s office that a renewed effort is under way. The U.S. Chamber of Commerce confirmed that it is back in the mix, after a hasty exit last year when Schumer proposed a legislative framework with a temporary worker program that favored labor unions.
And Schumer and his staff have quietly begun reaching out to some unlikely players in the Senate, including Lisa Murkowski of Alaska, who has professed a newfound freedom since winning reelection last year without the Republican Party’s help. (full article)

Obama: “I Haven’t Moved to the Center, I’m the Same Guy”… President Obama on Sunday dismissed the notion that his administration in recent weeks has pivoted toward the political center to raise his approval ratings as the 2012 campaign nears.
After ushering through Congress measures to throw a lifeline to troubled U.S. corporations, stimulate the economy and dramatically overhaul the nation’s healthcare system, Obama has since cut a deal with congressional Republicans on taxes and called for a freeze on most federal spending.
But when pressed Sunday during a live interview with Fox’s Bill O’Reilly on what political analysts say is a clear sprint toward the center, Obama dismissed the notion with a “no.”
“I haven’t — I didn’t move to . . . I’m the same guy,” he said.
When O’Reilly said the president’s critics call him “a big government liberal,” Obama replied that he inherited a nation on the brink of an economic crisis. That situation required his administration to take a number of “extraordinary steps” to avoid a severe economic depression, Obama said.
“Over the first two years of my presidency, we had a complete disaster. Right? We had a complete crisis,” Obama said. “The financial markets were breaking down. We were slipping into a Great Depression. And we had to take a bunch of extraordinary steps in order to make sure that the economy was growing again, which it is now, growing. Making sure that the private sector was creating jobs again. It’s now doing that.”
When confronted with a Wall Street Journal editorial that accused Obama of aiming to redistribute wealth, the president replied, “Well, the Wall Street Journal probably would paint you as a left-wing guy.”  (Read More)

Medusa’s Boss Says “The Folks Who Hate You, They Don’t Know You”… WASHINGTON (AP) — President Barack Obama says he doesn’t take it personally when people say they hate him.  People who say they don’t like him, he says, don’t really know him. He says they’re just reacting to “whatever funhouse mirror image” of him that is out there.
Said Obama: “The people who dislike you, don’t know you. The folks who hate you, they don’t know you.”
