(Huff-Po)…In a surprising reversal, Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine switched his endorsement from Mitt Romney to Rick Santorum Friday in Columbus, Ohio…..”I could not, in good conscience, be on record endorsing Governor Romney when I knew in my heart that Rick Santorum was the better candidate.”

The plot thickens.

Insiders are speculating on Attorney general Mike DeWine as the most likeliest….as they have a relationship dating back to their days in the Senate.

(dispatch)…Republican presidential hopeful Rick Santorum has a “major announcement” planned for 2 p.m. today at the Statehouse, according to his campaign.  The announcement, scheduled for Veterans Plaza, is believed to be an endorsement from a prominent Ohio politician, although a Santorum campaign spokesman declined to confirm.

Spokesmen for Ohio Gov. John Kasich and House Speaker William G. Batchelder, R-Medina, said their respective bosses were not involved. A spokesman for Senate President Tom Niehaus, R-New Richmond, did not immediately return a call seeking comment.  “I would fall out of my chair if the governor endorsed anybody today,” said a source close to Kasich.

Likely Ohio Republican voters favored the former Pennsylvania senator Santorum over former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney 36 percent to 29 percent in a Quinnipiac University poll released Wednesday.  Santorum already had two speaking engagements scheduled for this evening near Cincinnati and two events in Columbus on Saturday.
