Usually I try to refrain from passing severe judgements against an entire group. With the possible exception of MoveOn.org there are generally people within any group that possess some semblance of capacity for logical thought, and even within MoveOn followers there are some who recognize the rabid collective echo-chamber of supporting Big Labor at every possible opportunity. However, this recent rebuttal article by Think Progress in support of The Muslim Brotherhood is bizarre to say the least. Here is the story:
Republican Representative Ros-Lehtinen Calls For Isolating Muslim Brotherhood by pointing out their radical associations and beliefs. Then, Soros-Funded ThinkProgress Accuses Rep Ros-Lehtinen of being an “Alarmist,” and says Muslim Brotherhood is “Not Radical”.
(WASHINGTON) – U.S. Rep. Ileana Ros-Lehtinen (R-FL), Chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, released the following statement on the announcement that the “Freedom and Justice Party,” established by the Muslim Brotherhood, has been officially recognized by Egypt’s interim government:
“Given its radical and violent ideology, it is deeply disturbing that the Muslim Brotherhood would be recognized in any way as a legitimate political entity. “The Muslim Brotherhood is committed to violence and extremism. Neither freedom nor justice will be advanced by any political party established by the Muslim Brotherhood. “United States policy must reflect this reality, and the Administration must not engage the Muslim Brotherhood, or allow direct or indirect U.S. assistance to benefit that organization.” (Read More)
A pretty straight forward recognition of the avowed radical intentions of the Muslim Brotherhood. Lest, people forget it was the Muslim Brotherhood that assassinated Anwar Sadat and advocates entirely for a “Sharia Compliant” form of governance in Egypt, replete with radical Islam. There have been literally dozens of recent examples of the radical ideology, and we have reflected many here on this site. Yet, look at the response from the progressive left-wing group “Think Progress”:
Rep. Ros-Lehtinen Issues AlarmistStatement Calling For Isolating The Muslim Brotherhood In Egypt – ThinkProgress Rep. Ileana Ros-Lehtinen, chairperson of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, reacted quickly to the Egyptian government’s recognition of the Muslim Brotherhood’s political party.
In an alarmist statement, she denounced the recognition and called for the U.S. to isolate the Brotherhood.
. . . Of course, as actual experts will tell you, the Muslim Brotherhood is not “committed to violence” (“Since the 1970s, the group has not engaged in violent activity.”); they are not “radical” (“[T]his is a very conservative movement.”); and the U.S. should not be afraid of Brotherhood.
Heck, even the lefty media have now accepted the reality of democracy in Egypt as being hijacked by radical Islam. Yet the rabid left-wing ideological crew at ThinkProgress continues with a blatantly false narrative… nuf said…./SD
